I've done it and yeah man it works. Right now tho, I use CFL only at the seedling stage and swap to a 150 HPS after a few nodes. Add LED later on in flowering. But I only grow 1 or 2 plants. You might also consider COB led. I have a hankering to try it myself but all in all what I got works great. Keep in mind CFL is almost as hot as HID. And u can get a 150 HPS for $65 shipped on eBay. A dimmable 400 for under $150. I'm not sure about the COB. Seems most build there own. Lots of choices. To be honest, CFL is at the bottom of my list but I know it works.

Wow bro. That's a small problem. I haven't grown on soil for several years. I do Hempy and haven't had a lot of issues. When I grew soil I never had a ph meter. I just used filtered water from the machine at the grocery store. Later when I went hydro and passive hydro(Hempy) I got a meter and the water tested out at 7 PH. Looking at the plant, I am kinda leaning towards nutrient lock out, because of PH issues. That's just a guess tho.

What I would do in a Hempy is a maybe flush with 1/2 the container volume of PH 6 water with it's mixed about 25% of norm. But, that's in Hempy and I don't want you to drown your plant with the soil.

I would make a post in the plant problems section. There are some incredibly smart peeps here on the RIU that would give you much more qualified advice. The reason I do Hempy is because you just don't have any problems with it. I always suggest to new guys to try it for this reason.

Anyway bro. Don't go all in panic mode. You def have a problem but, I don't think it's that dire. I think you can save it for sure. Check with the soil guys for real on the plant problems section and best of luck.

Look fine to me. Nice and healthy.

Looks like plenty of light. Is that a CFL? I only use CFL at the very beginning of a grow but, have used the big ones before all the way through. Been years but I know they will work. The cab is nice and organized. All in all I think everything is fine. The only advice, don't over water or burn em up with too much nutes. Be patient. Also, if your going to add more light later, consider something different. Like a small HPS or LED. I would love to try a COB but haven't yet so....... My theory is using different types of light will give you more spectrums for the plant. Good luck.

I have that light (a slightly older version so ymmv) as well and you need to watch the height. When the plants start stretching they can get 'bleached' by the the couple of IR diodes. I assume it was the ir diodes anyway. From the pics you are good but it's something to remember.

I think it's still too young. It doesn't look like white hairs to me but new growth. Have you flipped to 12/12 yet? You might want to make a new thread so it gets some attention.

Looking good for 3 weeks here are 1 of mine at 2 weeks from today. Its still a midget because i switched to a solar storm 880 and i think the lights were to close.Hopefully by raising it to 38 inches ill start seeing vertical growth

630 continuous wattage of CFL's is actually a fuck load of light if you have them in that fixture a few inches above your seedlings. Im surprised its not too hot. Can you post a link to your bulbs? Im not sure how i feel about 600watts just chilling a few inches above the tops in an open reflector. The plants look like they are coming along nicely. What are your plans for flowering? Ventilation ect..

when the water evaporates it will raise humidity, which will invite fungus and mites into your grow, and later on during flowering could cause bud-rot, also how are you adjusting your temps?
