I don't understand either, I thought Cree were USA chips yet there's multiple threads swearing by this Jerry Meng guy. Do Cree build in China or are these copies? I'm in the UK and looking to by about 10 CXB3590s, it works out around $300 cheaper compared to mouser or digikey which is obviously very tempting, but are they the same COBS, or do they perform as well? Thanks.

You need to calm down, use google, and some critical thinking...not talking about just here too.
Jerry's coat tails aren't the ones being ridden.
To calm down??????
Do you have a problem with me?!!
Et toi tu peux tout comprendre si je me
met a écrire en français...? ? J'ai pas envie de me prendre la tête a traduire une tartine longue comme le bras bourrée de thermes technique...voila
And if answer me put you in this state...don't please! I didn't ask you!
Have a great day ★

Sure but quality control, or lack of, from many Chinese exporters result in defective or partially defective chips. Just hoping someone who has perhaps tested them side by side (Jerry's and real Crees) to see if there is any difference in quality?

Videos like these make me wary;

the chips I have received from jerry\kingbrite are real cree cobs with the correct bin numbers.
that's been my experience.

afaik he is not selling questionable copycats, if your scared then go get them from mouser

I have not seen a single post indicating kingbrite may be selling copycats, so why now the questions ?

Bonjour
We should ask @SupraSPL and @REALSTYLES if they had issues with their cxa/b since they buy on kb!??
They are the ones to ask!
Have a great day ★
Why ask again when there is a whole thread pretty much filled with exactly this concern...

KingBRIGHT(well known led company) has no association with kingBRITE(jerry)
Jerry from kingbrite is not an official cree or bridgelux distributor. But they do offer legit products and no min. So for the small scale DIY crowd it's a good source.

Not sure about Cree but Bridgelux has told me Kingbrite isn't a distributor. If a unit needed to be replaced returns would have to be handled through Kingbright. I assume they can do returns themselves, but there would be no direct factory warranty for the consumer.
Just buy from Digikey or Mouser then and pay more lol

Double check that is why...
I bought mine from kb as well as most of the (cleaver, smart! ?!!) Diyers here and I have no complaints about it...thanks to supraspl and Realstyle...
