Sup everyone, I've been browsing the forums for a couple months now absorbing as much information as possible through all the available sources that have been posted here. I've been around plants my entire life... i've worked in vineyards and my family runs an organic garden. This is my first attempt at cultivating lady love. I view this more as a scientific experiment as I know there is a steep learning curve and nothing beats experience in the field. I hope to find what nutrients and strains work best with the growing environment I have available. Next grow I plan on doing 1 strain only.

I'm using a stand up 3x3 shower with a mylar shower curtain. Each of the plants are now in 5gal buckets with a mix of 3 parts perlite, 1 part vermiculite and 1 part roots organic potting soil. I'm using the "hempy bucket" technique, I have drilled 4 holes in each bucket 1 and 1/2 inches from the bottom to create a reservoir. The bottom of my bucket up to the holes is filled with river rocks. The buckets are sitting on 1-1/2inch cubes to keep them off the floor and allow for proper drainage. I taped black layered plastic around the buckets to promote root growth.

I have 2-10w fans blowing straight up from floor, and one 30w fan oscillating by the babies. I also have jimmy rigged my bathroom fan to hook to the cooltube of my HID light if I need the extra ventilation. As of now the temp remains a solid 82deg F with all my fans running with 45% hum.

I have ONE dimable (50%,75%, 100%) 600w MH/HPS ballast ( I have both bulbs) Running MH now for veg at 75%.
I have TWO 300w LED grow lights that I hang on the sides. They actually run 168w from plug so the specs they advertise with are false. Anyhow I like the combination I have for just under 9 sq feet. I started veg with 1 of the LED's... moved to 2 LEDS as they grew, and finally added the HID light as I felt the plants were big enough to handle it. You can see in the pics.

I pH when feeding to 6.2 and also check my runoff (20% hempy technique) for volume and pH to see what I have coming out. I'm using a combination of Floranova Grow and Foxfarm's Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tigers Blood. I follow the hydroponics chart that was enclosed with the foxfarm shipment using half of the recommended dose. I switch every feeding between the floranova and foxfarms nutrients. I use Half of the recommended dose each time in 1 gallon of water per plant. I water each plant based on how the bucket feels when I pick it up and the appearance of the plant... I think this is one of the hardest aspects lol.

I created a cardboard wall with plastic and blue tape and supplement 60g on CO2 every morning and turn off the fans for an hour or two. Not sure if it does much but I have the CO2 so I might as well use it. Will up the dose in flowering. I also have two grow your own mushroom boxes that I got from the grocery store on the floor of the shower.

On Monday 11/2, week 4 of my 24/0 Veg cycle will start. I feel like my plants are doing well minus some minor nutrient burn or cal/mag deficiency in one of the plants. I will post pics in the correct forum when I have the opportunity.

I'm new and welcome all feedback, advice, constructive criticism.

Today is the 23rd day of Veg (24/0). I find the differences between the strains to be amazing. They all receive the same amount of light and nutrients. The Lemon Haze is super vigorous and will probably be my single strain selection for my next try. I've been utilizing LST on all the plants to try to even out the canopies with little success. Right now I'm running two 168W LED'S on the sides and one 600w (on 75%) MH smack dab in the center...in just under 8sq feet. Both of the purple strains are taking their sweet time and ruining my plans to keep everything even. I wanted the light to be an equal height from all the plants.

I feel like my space is starting to get cramped and 2 plants would've been a better choice... any suggestions, like moving the indica's out and vegging them longer and flowing the two big sativa strains? Is there an optimal time to induce flowing cycle (12/12) ?

31 Days of veg. I doubled my nutrient supplementation and have noticed my plants are happier than ever before. I'm thinking the cal/mag deficiency was caused by high humidity lockout...because I never added a cal/mag nutritional supplement and everything went away. I'm up to feeding every 3 days now with the plant size and how they've reacted. My canopy is completely full and I will switch to 12/12 this weekend after a dark period and flush...I need to do more research before I decide which technique I will use.

SWITCHING TO FLOWER AT MIDNIGHT :)

It has been 33 days of veg (24/0) counting from the date I brought the clones home in my very first picture. Tonight at midnight I'm going lights out for 12 hours to start my 12/12 flowering cycle. I considered doing an extended dark period but after lengthy research decided it didn't provide much of an advantage and could potentially over-stress the plant. I've also been debating what lighting technique I should use for the highest quality buds... I'm not extremely worried about quantity.
I always thought I would switch to HPS at flower and that would be that but after some reading I've decided to stick with my 600w MH bulb all the way through flower. Supporting this decision is the fact the I have two 300w(168w from plug) LED's on each side of the HID ballast. The specs of the LED's:

Product info:
Size: 15.8*8.3*2.4inch
View Angle of LEDs: 90°and 120°mixed
Worldwide Voltage: AC85~265V
Frequency: 50/60 HZ
Chips: Epileds
Lighting Area: 1m/52.78, 1.5m/78.5, 2m/113.04
Certificates: CE, ROHS, FCC
Spectrum of Light : Vegetated Stage - 430-475nm, 620-630nm, 660nm and White
Spectrum of Light: Growth & Bloom - 430-475nm, 620-630nm, 660nm, 730nm and White
Working Environment: -20℃~ 40℃

I've read the blue spectrum from the MH bulb increase resin, tris and thc content, while decreasing yields... (here's hoping the LED's make up for the loss from the HPS). It said HPS created high yields and dense big buds, though they diminish taste and aroma.

TOP L: Lemon Kush (26inches from soil) TOP R: Grimace (19inches from soil) BOTTOME R: Northern Lights (24inches from soil) BOTTOM L: Grand Daddy Purp (22 inches from soil).

I've been adding bone meal that last couple weeks along with my normal nutrient supplementation... man does it smell lol.

First week of flowering is complete! It's starting to smell like skunk pineapples. I've been feeding about every 3 days, with CO2 supplementation when the lights come on in the am. I'm sticking with my 600w MH bulb all the way through flower. I've read a lot into it and want the highest quality buds possible... not to concerned with max yeild. I've also order 2, 45w UVB bulbs that I will through on pretty soon to increase resin content. It has been dropping about 20 degrees at night in the room and I'm hoping this wont have negative effects on the plants... I do understand it helps to bring out color at the end of flowering. Anyway, next update I will post more specific stats for each plant. Peaceweekone2.jpgweekone.jpg weekone1.jpg

Today is the 10th Day of flowering. I added Open Seasame last feed and really noticed a difference. First sign of buds. Plants look healthy and vigorous. I will be adding 2, 26 Watt UVB lights at the end of the second weed to boost THC production. I love going in the room as soon as the lights come on...the plants can change so quickly it's incredible. I'm going to also need to add new hooks and pullys to the sealing as the plants are almost to close to my HID light. moose.jpg Mustafa.jpgmoo.jpg

Week 3, Day 22 of flower. I'm now running independent UVB bulbs above the grimace and lemon kush (now running 600MH, 2-180w mix spectrum LEDs and 2-26w UVB spec bulbs). I'm using a crazy mixture of nutrients at the moment, I'll post some specs when I have the time. I have written journals running so I do have the data. anyway enjoy the shots. Peace

Nice work mate, there are a lot of buds in there!! Are you going to do a perpetual chop so the undergrowth can mature? There looks like there will be a fair amount of popcorn in there. Beautiful job though, hats off :-D
