Nevergood's high power garden

ttystikk, One of the problems is the pad for the COB. I had to look for one that had atleast a 55mm pad and I didn't want to look at anything over $80. And only found one that would work for me. The next problem is now the COB cover the whole pad. So you have no place to drill your mounting hole and if you did, how far before you hit water? I ended up making my own COB holder and insulator so I could sandwich it between the fixture and the pump/pad. I can now get 320 watt heat sinks for Flip Chip cheaper and is only 2" or 3" taller than the water cool CPU. It made for a light (as in weight) and cool looking hood. If you wanted it to be reliable, you would have to add some type of safety. Maybe a 12v solenoid on the pump and fan side and the solenoids on/off side cut power to the positive from the driver? To much headache, but they do work, I had 640+ watts of cooling for 660 watts of COBs (2). I am still waiting to see if Luna 300s can pull over a gram per watt running a little over nominal (303 watts). The Coolbays seem to be keep them cool at 330 watts. But there is a wall fan always blowing on it. I am really liking them on the HLG240 though. The spread is excellent. Two more months and I should have a total for the room. I might add 500 more to the room, but I am not sure where. I am still under 2600 watts right now and my goal is over 5 pounds.

Thank you for that in depth discussion of what you found. It's very useful that you used some high wattage chips with them, so there would be substantial heat involved for you to work these units against.

About 28 Days- Growth has been very good, but I did over feed a bit. I have a few burnt tips, but not bad. The 200 watt shelf will be the first to come down, it is Sour Grape, 7-8 weeks. Everything else is 9-10 weeks. I have nearly finished the CLU550 3000k fixture and will compare the lux output against the Luna @ 250 watts per COB. I know I keep saying this, real life just keeps getting in the way. IMG_20160227_225555331.jpg IMG_20160227_225619865.jpg IMG_20160227_230819372_HDR.jpg

The shelf is getting a little wild, so I think I will take some bird netting I have and cut a 2'x5' strip of it, to make this more of a vertical grow. I need to get the light farther away from the plants and I can't go up.

^ Fine, I will do a diagonal grow:eyesmoke:.
As always something had to go wrong this run. I had to air up my tires the other night. My lights were on when I turned on my compressor and I guess my Minisplit also came on at the same time. Now my AC is throwing a code that says to check the boards. So, I am back to the 8" fan/filter and 8" booster intake on a controller. I will go thorough more CO2 now, but it is at a minimal cost per run. Mid plant, the temperature is mid 70* while the rest of the room peaks at 83*.

I do want to repost that this is a legal medical grow in Ca. and I am running more wattage than I ever have. This will be the first time in years that I don't have to have this running full time to keep my supply at an acceptable level. I don't like pay for smoke.
The room is just getting wild. I feel like I am crawling through a jungle while watering. I have 2 this big with 8 or 9 others slightly shorter. The door is 36" wide.

No Dawg, it is not just me smoking. If is just my outdoor life has suffered due to this. I haven't slept in a tent for to long now.
Update beginning of week 5- The 2 biggest under 1000 watts are yellowing, but the rest are looking good, aside from the burnt tips. I am to the point I might need to add stacks and ty up some branches.
My friends OG seems to be handling the intensity much better than the Critical Mass, even though they are at the outer edge. Top leaves are bleaching. The Sour Grapes on the shelf under 200 watts of Vero 29s @ 25 watts is just not doing what I expected, but they are sticky, just no bulk yet with only a couple weeks to go.IMG_20160309_245215135_HDR.jpg IMG_20160309_245256236.jpg IMG_20160309_245311736.jpg IMG_20160309_245329661.jpg

Don't know the day, but I was wrong about what plants are what. So now that some of them almost finished I know what I have. The whole 5'x8' is Green Crack with one Critical Mass in the back corner and the 2 with the OG are GG. Roots on the GG is awesome looking.

I have just finished cutting down the top half of the 5'x8' area and it is looking very good. My fingers are so sticky from plucking leaves, but they smell so good. I am starting to feel like I should of had them all in 3 gallon bags. Nearly every branch was broken over. If netted thing could be better.
So hear is what's left of the plants. Still a lot.IMG_20160321_234128114.jpg

A little side note- I honestly could not tell the difference between the 2700K 90+cri and the 4000K 80cri. I was expecting a more noticeable difference. I think I will put the 2700K 90+cri in my veg area to see how it does. Will it cause stretch or will it be similar to the 4000K?
