Helicopter infared detection of growlights???

I have been advised by a friend that various ant-drug agencies I.E. D.E.A. have the capability to detect grow lights being used indoors through an infared camera mounted on a helicopter, does anyone have any info on this? I was told that no matter were the grow lights were they could be detected. I find this hard to believe but troubling as well. I am growing in a concrete basement I do not have the room insulated with mylar is it possible to detect the lights with this method, and if so would mylar prevent it? Thanks.

Yes the technology exists, no mylar will not protect you in the least. However in the US they need warrants to search your house in this manner so technically you shouldn't have anything to worry about unless you are already fucked. However who knows what these fucks do with there time and they may notice your house and then have reason to keep an eye on you a bit more, until you slip up and give them a reason for a warrant.

Check out the following link :

GROWFAQ

There is also A film you can buy which blocks UV cameras from seeing your grow heat signature.

If i find a link to some i'll post it up.

Hope this helps.

Anti Detection Foil Plastic Sheeting Pond Liner Supportive Gauze

Anti detection foil.

That's what it's called.

I found this on another forum...

"It's known as C3 Anti-Detection Film and comes in two millimeter rolls just like Mylar. One side is composed of Mylar while the other side is a heat resistant material. LEO (Law Enforcment Officials) use a technology called Infared Scanning (IR) for growroom conformations. C3 Anti-Detection Film masks roughly ninety percent of the heat that your garden generates making it almost entirely undetectable to LEO. This material was created in Holland back in the late nineties and since then has been adopted by the United States Military for goverment use which means it is no longer for sale to civilians in the United States."

people save your money, 2' of lead is 10 bucks from your local hardware store and the nellycopters can only spot the bulbs, ergo withlead over them they cant spot anything...get copters over daily, they even train half a mile from where i live; they found people living in an attic in the same apartment block as me: BUT NOT ME!

paranoia will destroy ya

Dude dont worry nothing will happen. Although yes they can detect the lights with infared but that doesnt mean anything. It could just mean you have lights on in your house. Most likely if they are using infared it isnt to find grow rooms. LoL I was actually thinking about this today because I heard a helicopter flying over earlier. But like someone said up there they need a search warrant. You have nothing to worry about unless you selling from your house or they have a reason for a search warrant.

I wonder if they can detect CFL light, they dont put out all that much heat.

Are those the copters with the long thing sticking out of the front end of them? They have some like that they use around here to locate big grows in the middle of corn fields.

I've bought a roll of the UV block mylar, I forget what kind it was, cost me 500 bucks for a 50 foot roll, that was wholesale.

Unless you have enough lights to really get attention, I wouldn't say it's necessary, but it was a "just in case" buy 4 years ago, and I continue to use it.

Do you dumbasses really trust the government to give you privacy? Have you heard of the Patriot Act?

Not to contribute to the paranoia, but seriously, come on.
