Looking for highest PPFD per 4x4 rig?

Timber 900 watt Vero 27 rig that is about 42"x 42" 1200 PPFD within a 54x54" are $1399. 12 COBS baby!
Seems like the Vero27 V7 has the edge over Cree rig.

The Fluence is a nice rig but if a light burns out on the Timber - you can DIY replace it. Fluence may be able to get slightly better light spread. Fluence can go within 6" of canopy while Timber Vero about 12" abpve.

Any other recommendations? I know GrowMau5 newest rig is sweet? What about a Vipar or Mars? LOL!

3 Tasty T3's in a 4x4 = 1038 PPFD $515 x 3 = $1545
2 T4's in 4x4 = 923 PPFD 2 x $670 = $1340

go with the http://timbergrowlights.com/900-watt-vero29-v7-5x5-framework/ its got the best spread and will kill it during flower. The spydrx isnt really worth your time, its not the worst but its not better than the above. DIY is still a bit cheaper but pre-made this is solid.

I use 3 T1s in a 4x2. You don't need 3x T3s for a 4x4. This is less than 3 weeks in flower.

Wouldnt (2) Timber 400w linear frameworks be best for a 4x4? Delivers 1200PPFD.

Space it out over 2 orders and save $50 with the trees promo.

$1068 ($134/w) vs $1374 ($1.53/w) but the 900w fixture runs at 75w per cob and the 2 400w run at 100w per cob so,the efficiency is probably with the 900w. Who knows the break even point. Probably years to recover $300.

Better yet get the kits and avoid having to pay taxes.

You only save $40 for the kit,vs framework but with the added taxes its more like $65 70ish

There won't be. Trust me, my lighting is fine. Everyone pretty much agrees my plants are pretty incredible for only 241w of light. The buds will be, as well.

How hard are the Timbers driven? Pretty sure the TastyLEDs are driven harder.

They are. Timbers are driven at 1400mA. My two Crees are driven at 2150mA. My Vero, at 1670mA. So, essentially, I am putting out more power with the Tastys. The Timber 300w is driven at 2100mA and costs only about $70 less what I paid, and it costs more than the T3.

More power isnt always the goal, its PPF/D per Watt. and Price per Watt. However its usually cheaper to drive them harder and sacrifice efficiency.

When I say power, I mean PPFD. I guarantee I only need these three T1s for this 4x2 space. I could cover up to a 4.5x4.5.

You only need to reach 1000-1200 PPFD. After 1200, growth slows. At 1500, photoinhibition occurs. 800-850 is about 85% production power. I'm putting out ~1000, so that will be enough.

Agree on the max PPFD but you can go up to 1500PPFD if you have your temps right in veg, till CO2 of course... But also make sure your running at the best Temps for Veg and flower (86F Veg, 76-79F flower)

Exactly, and you could get away with less light with a higher temp... Like at 75F at 1000PPFD is the same as 86F at 500ppfd. True story

Good thread with good info. Both Timber and Tasty do a really good job as do other COB vendors posting here.

My only complaint is the s**t that Amazon and Ebay push with Chinese Burples claiming 1000 watts or 1200 watts.
