Yeah, that's it............... strongest stuff I smoked in Europe and their tut(ak47). I could function on the tut, but anesthesia was straight lights out every time. Was a heavy cannabis smoker too at that time...... got annoying because it ruined my day activities, lol.

Dr grin was the best I had overall, loved it...... tangerine dream was the over hyped cup winner that year I brought back , hermmied/seeded two of my profit runs and scrapped that shit. Also got pick pocketed in the dam, which fucked up the rest of my trip......damn gypsies

I will have to give this a try. Thanks longer I am a patient and use concentrates the higher my tolerance gets so always on the hunt and this is a big reason why I decided to try my hand at breeding.

I'm.excited for the flowers on the narcotic Kush because it's the first high cbd high thc strain I will have used.

I'm still @ jun 7th post and this thread is fantastic! Civil discussions?! Haven't remembered a thread like this on RIU since I joined. Well Bodhi's seeds and scroggers united but that's all that comes to mind. Can't wait to catch up with it all. Badass topic Evil!

Thanks very much as I said at the beginning of the thread, all are welcomed and pics are too I don't care what the topic as long as it stays civil. This is turning out to be a good example of how things can be and I'm very much enjoying it.

Ok bro, following your advice i just topped my narcotic Kush auto,, I didnt have time to hook my panel up to the watt meter, but its dimmed down still, my guess would be 100 watts right now,, Thanks evil motherboardView attachment 3973631

Ok she's a HEAVY feeder bro I would start cranking up the light and start watching her for deficiencies. But she can take whatever you throw at her. You saw the one I just harvested I only topped that plant once. Stay about 16-18" above her and make sure any fan leaves covering a bud sight get plucked or tucked and you will be golden. I know your soil is good so you might be able to pull it off water only we will see. I am excited to see how yours turns out :) She's gorgeous

Ok guys garden update tonight. Today was more house keeping but a little gardening as the girls in the veg closet needed to be watered and fed. They got their usual of Ionic Grow, Epsom, Calcium from NFG, and I threw hydro guard in today to see if it helps, since it's on hand. Everything is on cruise control with the purple envy bouncing back BUT, my (2) GG#4 plants are still off. One worse than the other. I will give them another week or so to see if we can figure out what's going on but if not it might be time to chop them there's just too much going on and the spaces do have need to be used as efficiently as possible. Playing with a sick plant or two is not that lol.

After that I peeked in on the QB tent with the Sky walkers and everything is good, as is the male in the COB tent with the Narcotic Kush hanging in the second half.

So the big news today is I got some unexpected family help to get the exercise gear out of the g'room :)

Some of my old stuff will be coming back but no more exercise station and two treadmills. The tents in the pic are my two 3x3's. I will soon have enough space for my wants and needs where I will comfortably be able to run my perpetual for the meds and still keep my breeding projects going but without one interrupting the other......... :bigjoint:

Thanks for checking in :hump:

Well it's about that time for me to start this journal. I will be testing my QB light ( @robincnn , @Stephenj37826 )in one 3x3 tent, and my (4) AutoCob's ( @Big smo ) in the other 3x3 tent. In EACH tent will be (2) Feminized Sweet Black Angel plants. All plants used for this comparison run are clones taken off of the same mother, and all are in 5 gallon SIP's using the same exact soil. Everything is the same between the two tents including fans, filters, timers, etc, the only variable here is the lights. I'm not a scientist running a lab here guys, doing the best I can with what I have available, and I am fortunate enough to be able to do this for you.

The QB light I am running was built by HLG and sent to me assembled. It's (2) of these boards: https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/qb288-quantum-board

They're mounted to a sheet of aluminum as the heat sink and are being pushed by a Meanwell HLG-320H-1400B driver.

The AutoCob's is (4) of the following in one of my 3x3's https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/autocob-55-watt-cob-led-grow-light.56994/
and (2) of them running Citizen 1812's in 6500K for my veg closet/nursery.

https://www.cobshop.net/shop?olsPage=products/3x3-tent-special-4-cob-kit&olsFocus=false

Strain for the run is Sweet Black Angel. I have already grown a couple of auto's under each of the lights to get a feel for them and get through whatever learning curve I may have had (and did) before comparing the lights. I would not have felt comfortable doing a comparison grow between two different products and not have used them before. The only issue with the QB light thus far for me (and not HLG's fault) is the original dimmer was busted in shipping, and I first had the QB full blast which is 320 watts at the plug on my kill-a-watt meter. I found this to be too much light for my space causing higher temps than needed/wanted and burnt/stunted my first plant under it. Once I contacted HLG they promptly sent me a new dimmer with wagos ready to go on the light, took me longer to take the light down and hang it again than replace the dimmer. I turned the light down to 250 watts at the wall and all is good since. The AutoCob's are pulling 244 watts at the plug and have given me no issues so far, only learning curve so far for me has been playing with optimal distance of light to canopy, despite how "soft' these run they will and can burn your plants if you get too close. I have also found this to vary from strain to strain. I have grown three different strains under both lights now and a fourth each under the COB and QB not in the other tent.

Right now my AutoCob tent is finishing up a couple of auto's and the (2) SBA's going in there are in the veg closet with the clones. The other (2) SBA were topped and put into the QB tent two days ago. I am letting them veg a little more to recover well from the topping and lolli popping they got before flipping the lights to 12/12.

AutoCob's in 3x3 are 3500K
AutoCob's in Veg Closet are 6500K
QB light is 3000K

Well enough rambling, here's a few pics, come along and let's see what happens in this grow :bigjoint:

Can I ask you a question are you using any type of heat saying for your quantum boards it didn't look like it or there may be a small piece of aluminum between the driver at the boards but it really didn't look like you have March calling them I was just wondering how you're doing and what milli you're driving them at

Glad you're not adamant about that 'cause the wattage drawn by a fixture doesn't dictate how much goes to heat and how much goes to photons. If memory serves, LED efficiency driven at favorable amperage results in 50%or higher photon:heat ratios while HPS will be significantly lower photon:heat ratio around 35%.
I run an 800w 16 COB fixture with passive cooling in a 5x5 and maintain a 75-80F temperature range. The drivers (Equivalent to the hps ballasts) are mounted outside the tent but even if I moved them into the tent, there would still be a large temperature differential favoring the LEDs
Are you saying the drivers are getting a little warm if you put drive in tant it wood heat it up more or am I mistaken

Nice thread Evil.

Quick ?.....any thing you "don't" dig on the autocobs?

Lookin at the 4 pack to use as sup lighting for a 600 hps vert grow.

There's not anything I do not like about them so far. I think their best attributes is how cool they run despite being passive, and the ability to adjust/move them around and up and down. And despite you getting a kit per say it's like a bunch of little smaller lights, in my tents works good the versatility especially since I always run different strains in my garden.

I have (2) QB's the 3K in my 3x3 is a proto type and on a piece of aluminum as the heatsink. It works beautifully so I like it more industrial looking too. The second QB I bought recently for the veg closet is on a slate 3 heatsink which is absolutely gorgeous. I will have to go back to the garden later and make sure I get the correct milli amps for the drivers, I will check later or tomorrow just got back from the garden and my work today have pics to upload threads to update etc and just tired but I won't forget.

looks like a small hydro store in your room now evil,, very nice
Thanks wait till the 5x9 arrives I will be starting to lay the room out tonight that's the 3x3's in there currently and my rack of plant food lol. We cleared the equipment out. The 3x3's will be sliding further back on the same wall and the 5x9 will be going left to right facing the pic in front so it will make like an L shape if you will. Getting excited and ready lot of work ahead will be busy for a bit :)
