I have a relative who is a Boston PO. Although you have tough laws listen to his bitch. He says when a gun is used in a crime, they have to contact the manufacturer (Smith&Wesson, Glock etc) to find out who they sold it to, they then have to track down that dealer, and if he sold to another dealer, it goes on, until finally they get to the dealer who must keep the paperwork on who bought the gun...and when the dealer is out of business, usually a dead end...why on earth do we not have a national registry?
