I may switch to an HPS for flowering on my next grow. This first one is all CFL for me.

lol I know I know......... I would suggest getting the e-conolight 150 watt its only $20 dollars and can be converted really easy I only started with the cfls because I allways thought hid lighting would be so expensive but I was dead wrong

there loving the hps! and its running way cooler than all the cfls I had in there cooling one light is way easier than 10 imho.....
once I get a couple grows under my belt I think Ill get a bigger cab and ballance it all out with a 175 watt mh I bet I could fit booth of them in that bake around too

So u did those tutorials to build that light? How mcuh did it all cost.. like from the light, to the wires and parts... Everything

yes I followed those tutorials line for line.....
the bake a round was $15 on ebay
econolite was 20 say 32 with shipping
dryer duct from home depot was like $10
hose clamps 3 were about $1 1.50
had some foil tape in the house and the wire box was $3 at the most including the cover and a grounded 18 gage extention cord was about $4


so roughly $70 and it was not hard to rewire at all! your basically extending all the wires some people are using the light casing it self I thought that looked a little grimey and my wife would have looked at it like it was gonna catch fire every time she saw it lol

So, I see the tubing coming out one end... and then it ends after the glass... And there is some sort of fan sitting there?

Is the fan blowing INTO the glass? How would you fight odors with this? Just stick a scrubber in the duct line?

So using the cool-tube makes it so there is no temp raise to your box? its just room temp then?

Do you have a separate exhaust?

no problem bro....
the ducting is connected to an exhaust fan pulling the hot air off of the bulb I copped that fan thats sitting in front of the tube to battle the cfl heat I left it in the box to blow over plants so yes it is blowing into the tube as well the exhaust fan and the one mounted on the wall are both 110 cfm the temps are now steady at 76 1 degree below room temp

ok after 7 days of 18/6 and 2 days of 12/12..........

this is the top of my single og kush plant I tryed fimming and snapped the top off....

no sex as of yet from what I can tell any thoughts are welcome.....

I have 7 plants in total of varying sizes in the very begining of my grow I added nutes way to early and burnt all the plants badly after flushing I transplanted the healthiest of the plants {4} into 1 gallon grow bags I left the rest of the plants in 16 oz cups I plan on repotting the females once they show sex Im assuming half of them will be male once sex is determined Ill know exactly how big of a pot I can transfer to................


Im not exactly sure how tall the plants are or how many nodes they have and the lights are off for the next couple of hours once they come on Ill get the stats
Im currently watering every 2 days with foxfarm grow big 1/2 dossage and bloom booster full strength once I see sex Ill add the tiger bloom along with the other nutes oh and superthrive every watering I let about 30% of the water to run off with every watering coco is dope!

oh yeah and the plants are now 27 days old from sprout......

Bro, so I am way more into this whole cooltubed hps light situation.. I notice that site only has 150w.. Do you know of any places that have the same sort of setup etc but for 300w?

Cant wait to see how many females you get. Are you planning on upping the amount of wattage if you get more females than expecting?

look through the econolight website a little deeper they have all kinds of shit there dirt cheap! I've been thinking about putting another 175 watt mh in there but I think Im gonna take it slow I still have a shit load of cfls so If I need extra lighting I can throw a couple of those in the cab....... the cooltube is about 3.5 inches around and 13 inches long..... you could use this Coleman 288 Lantern Globe at REI.com too its cheaper and its actually made for light to pass through Im sure this would help with any lumen loss aswell
