I also believe it's a male mainly due to the spacing underneath the (shovel) have always been told if it has stem more than likely a male

It’s definitely male.
Its just not the clearest why i say be patient, male flowers show certain lines and such i just can see yet. Could be male but it will answer better given a week probably.

The fact that fems can also throw weird spade growths on stalks makes me hold back.a little on these threads as too many argue male and then a pistil pops up.

Certainly aint gonna get pollen yet so no danger waiting :-)

definitely looks male- if you want to wait, look for clustering- males do that- sort of bubbling up thing- also have little stem things that make them hang down- females don't really get those.
