First time grow - skunkwerks nutrients

Hey everyone new to site and growing. I’m a first time grower in Michigan and as started off given a bottle of skunkwerks all in one nutes. I finished my first gallon and reordered another at $150 a gallon. I was wondering if anyone ever used skunkwerks and if so what was your experience with it.

The label says 5.5-5.8 ph and 3 different dosages (ml per gallon) depending on the stage of the plant. Which seems low for a soil grow. I’ll include pics of the label.

Also I was wondering if anyone has had great results from an all in one, or liquid nutes in general that are cheaper than $150 a gallon. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

General Hydroponics Flora 3 Part. If you have RO water you should use the calimagic as well. I have been using it for nearly 3 decades.

No just one gallon. Is there anything you would recommend that is good and cheaper either an all-n-one or a 3 part liquid nutes?
Man I am in the wrong racket. I should be slinging nutrients.

When you realize that these magic bottles all contain the same shit, perhaps in slightly different amounts, then you can stop being fooled by wild claims or fancy marketing. If you really wanna save money you can switch to dry salts and many love those as a few bucks worth will take you through an entire grow.

There are many growers on here using the GH Flora Trio, many that use Jacks or Megacrop.. Do some reading and see others results here on the forum and find what direction you want to take in the future because at $150 a gallon you are getting some very pricey colored water with your salts.

Ok I definitely appreciate the answers. And the dry salts do I have to mix in the soil before I put into the pots or can I top dress the soil and just add ph’d water. Like I said this is my first grow and I’m not too much liking this $150 a gallon skunkwerks all-n-one plus there’s hardly any info about their nutes online.

Dry salts would be mixed with your water not the soil. They are very fast acting and if using any nutrient in a soil type medium you don't want it building up in the medium. Typically with salt fed plants (bottle fed, whatever you wanna call it) people always water with some "runoff" or drainage is what it really is, this prevents excessive levels of the salts from building up.

You have a lot of reading to do my friend. Good luck in the rabbit hole Alice.

Ha thanks I appreciate it. Shocks me I’m already 6 weeks into flower with 4 of my plants when I realize how clueless I am. Thanks again✌

One tip I will leave you with. Over watering is bad, we hear that a lot. Over watering is not about volume of water, rather it is about the frequency of watering. We want to allow the soil to dry enough before watering again. Failure to do so will encourage fungus gnats but even worse it can cause root rot and kill or severely stunt your plant.

Feel the pot when it's wet, lift it up. Feel it when it's much lighter and the soil not only looks dry but the pot weight feels light. Then it's time to water. If you see the growth tips start to droop then you went too far lol.

Little plants in big pots generally encourages long wet periods each watering cycle therefore it's best avoided.

Yeah definitely. I only water when top soil is dry and pots feel light. I try to water til runoff. I’m looking into cal mag and different fertilizers than the skunkwerks I’m using. I still have 3/4 a gallon of it left but I’m trying to find something else for my next batch and have checked out GH 3 part. I’m also researching what dry nutes would be good. I’m running (4) 1000w hps in my grow room. I have 4 plants 6 weeks into flower and just added another 8 last night.

I only have one oscillating fan in there now but will go to the store later today and pick up a couple more. I came out here to Michigan under the premise I’d be taught a productive way to grow, but the 2 who were going to teach me never turned up after they set the room up and gave a gallon of skunkwerks, and a ph meter. I’ve just been watching a lot of YouTube vids and just created an account here in hopes I can learn things from experienced growers.

I’m a disabled veteran and the va has got me on like 10 different meds and I’d much rather grow my own cannabis to provide my medicinal needs as I don’t trust the pharmaceutical companies and their pills so I’m trying to learn proper procedures and techniques.

Luckily I haven’t had any pest issues although I just got some yellow sticky tape traps and some neem oil.

The main purpose of this particular thread to see if anyone had any grow experience with skunkwerks all-n-one. Since I can’t find too much listed about it online. Now that I’ve determined I need different nutes next batch, I just have to research whether I wanna stick with liquid or dry nutes and which would give me the most and best food for my girls in a cheaper price frame since now my gallon of skunkwerks is costing $150.

I’ll keep researching and definitely appreciate the feedback

You will do alright, sounds like you are asking the right questions. Holler at me if you ever need a pointer or a nudge in the right direction.

Man renfro no homo but shiiiit reading that was the first time I smiled in forever. It sucks when you feel like you’re all alone out here. Army - field artillery. Been fighting For my proper va benefits for almost 4 years now. Things can get overwhelming and feeling hopeless when it feels like I’m riding solo trying to make something happen. Well that’s off topic so I’ll organize some questions and take some pics of my grow areas for any much needed input and advice. Thanks for helping people, your kindness and intellect are much welcomed and appreciated by myself and many others

I was wondering if u had a link to the dry nutes u use. Or if no link then what all do u buy and in what quantity. I’m looking to buy enough for a whole cycle and something that is trusted and recommended but doesn’t cost the equivalent of $150 a gallon

Well don't let it get to you, feeling all alone isn't so bad, you could be stuck with my girlfriend lol. Just kidding around with ya, it's tough being alone, especially since you were likely used to being in a close knit unit. HMU if you ever need to vent, might not have much to say but I will listen.

Army Field Artillery. My grandfather served for the Army in the Pacific theater pretty much the whole island hopping campaign, he was on islands like Okinawa Tarawa. He was artillery, anti aircraft mostly, 40's 90's. His rank was 1st Sgt, was Master Sgt for a bit but got busted down a notch (he said it was for saving lives, probably was lol). Mostly was on the islands after we got a foothold, protecting from aircraft with AA guns. Once he was embedded with marines to call in fire from the cruisers. He said they would put a round exactly on the grid coordinate you told them, from 12 miles off shore so "you better damn well know where you're at" lol He liked the 10 foot burst, said it cleared the trees when they ran into a sniper lol.

Ha that’s awesome, your grandfather sounded like a bad ass with a good sense of humor. Yeah artillery’s no joke - well I guess all divisions are no joke in war - and there’s a need for it all - infantry, tankers, choppers, carriers, jets... all that! Though maybe I’m biased but that heavy artillery ain’t no joke - awww lawdy - them rounds can clear a whole city block. My MOS has been discontinued and implemented into another job, but I was 13C Fire Control - I’d get the coordinates from forward observers - which sounds like your grandpa was (13F) - match up the munitions to the target size and distance - and send that info to the proper battalions that handle the different types of artillery. Anyhows it’s crazy how ur grandad let you know a few things about that artillery. Shits serious as a heart attack when that missilery start slinging

I personally only use a few dry salts, I use GH Flora mostly, sometimes a dash of this or that in dry salt form, like magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) or monopotassium phosphate (MKP).

One popular dry salt is the Jacks Classic (The 3-2-1 formula ppl call it). It's a three part deal, the Jacks Classic Part A 5-12-26, Part B Calcium Nitrate and Epsom Salt. Their site is here: https://www.jacksnutrients.com/online-store/5-12-26-Part-A-p101272607
