Just a thought on preventing herms

So I’m ripping my bong and throwing a tiny bit of cherry diesel pollen onto some really early pistils just to get a couple seeds and not have to worry about pollenating the plant. So my mind is working and I start think would intentionally pollenating this part of the plant trick it into thinking that survival has been assured and prevent hermies? Just a thought, anyone else ever come to that conclusion?

Why would you think it will hermie anyways
This specific strain is GG#4. In veg it looked like it was showing boy parts. I flipped it into flower Because its a beast of a plant and I didn’t want the pollen to go to waste and now it’s showing all lady parts. Ggs known to hermie although I’ve had awesome luck with these seeds I’m gonna keep an eye on it. I just thought maybe now that it for sure has secured pollen that maybe the plant won’t have the need to produce any of its own for whatever reason.

Is it a clone or from seed? If it will herm, it will herm, regardless if it's been pollenated. IF the plant does throw nanners, just go threw the seeds you make and pick out any nanner plants

fuckin brainstorming idea, the process of polination has been forfuilled and the plant is happy, dont know why inever thaught of doingtha, although i may have done at some point, but promptly for got it lol stoned again

but there has to be less chance of it herming in late flowering if its got a good pedagree and has been allowed to produce some seeds. the plant will register the fact and not be so into reproduction during long flowering

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. If plants herm to ensure survival then ensuring its survival for it may be enough to tip the balance. But then again I was really high when I though of this lol I guess most people have no need to worry about herms. I had 35 plants pollenate from a herm outdoors this year. Ruined my whole crop. I’m thinking maybe next year, if I hit the lower branches maybe it’ll think that Mother Nature has done its thing and not try to ruin my life again.

This specific plant that I was pollenating is from seed.

were the seeds cheep or not, i allways paythe extra money and buy from a reputable breeder to make shure theres a minimum chance of getting a herm. some growers herm a plant in such a waythat all the offspring have a higher chance of becoming herm themselves

Nanners will still show up. I had fully pollenated a Copper Chem earlier this year, and still got nanners on a few buds. In theory, this makes a bit of sense, but doesn't translate to reality

Maybe it would only help with herms caused by environmental stressers rather than being genetically predisposed

was the copper chem seeds from a reputable breeder or another seed companys attempt at reproducing the strain?

They didn’t cost me a penny, I germed them and put them right out in the middle of no where and didnt check on them for 5 weeks and then didn’t check on them again for another 4. My outdoor spot is very very tough to get to.

so they could have been pre disposed to being hermi, if the seeds had deff come from a good breeder, it takes that problem out of the equasion

It was from greenpoint. Genetically, there will be germs here and there; it's chemdawg.

I still dont believe it would stop anything. Only way is to do a side by side with clones

right, it’d be realllllly hard to tell if it made a difference unless you had hermie clones which no one would ever want to do lol.
