Old mans Durban poison

In that setup, it's not going to hurt anything, but it sure as hell isn't going to help anything either.
It'll hurt his wallet. He pays $25 to fill his 20lb tank. If he's lucky it'll last a week or 2 between fills. He'll be out $200 for literally zero gains on his final product quality or quantity. But at least he'll be able to go on the internet and give bad advice because he has experience growing with CO2 enrichment.

I've given up trying to talk people out of stupid shit, for the most part. They almost always take offense or argue or quote some article they read in a magazine designed to sell products. I grow in living soil JADAM/KNF style. It gets me every time when someone puts up a 3-page list of soil amendments and special microbial products and 25 different sources for the same mineral, along with their Glenn Beck chalkboard-looking schedule for teas and boosts and special tweaks and foliars, to the point that they're spending $2000 and 8 hours/day just to grow $3000 worth of bud... but you can't talk someone out of a cult. They have to want to leave.

You're right. The first reply I made to this thread I told him he needed to increase light intensity but I totally missed that he's running one of those Mars cookie sheet fire hazards.

OP, everyone told me not to run CO2 on my first run but I did anyway. However, I also did research and listened to experienced folks and did everything else I needed to do to take advantage of the benefits. What you're doing is essentially burning money.
I've got 4 plants in my 4x4 that haven't received much attention lately. The tent has 200 watts of light plus three fans running 24 hours a day, so I'm guilty of wasting a little money on power. Worse ways to spend a little money. :weed:

Not all of us that came to RIU from COVID are bad! I'm only here cause I thought growing would be a fun little hobby during quarantine. Then things got carried away and I ended up spending several thousand bucks building my perfect grow room. Was supposed to be 6 outdoor plants! Thanks RIU.
I feel ya man. I have 2 tents, a shit ton of lights and some fans still in boxes. My collection has taken over most of the loft and recroom. But I've harvested enough bud for me to feel justified in what I've spent. Even though I probably shouldn't think about it. It would be nice to have the space back though.

But like you say, it's my hobby, lol.

I'm trying to be more mindful of waste this time around. I have 2 720w lights and a shit load of fans. Everything will be squeezed under 1 light for as long as possible and then I'll be using dimmers and keeping my lights close until its no longer feasible. I also don't plan to run my air scrubber until the stank gets bad. My last run I got everything dialed in just running everything balls to the wall and it showed on my utility bill. This run is all about efficiency. I'm even adding some automation into the mix since my labor is $$ too. I'll have just as much fun making things efficient as I did with the build. I actually don't even smoke, I'm in this for the challenge of designing and operating a fairly complex system.

Yeah, the nice part about this hobby is that it pays for itself. I managed to recoup all of my build costs and make a solid profit off my very first run. Now I'm keeping track of every dime I spend and figuring out ways to save. I had a stash like yours but I thinned it out so now I've only got my storage shed full of backup equipment in case of emergency

Sounds like a good project to take on..

Anyone else think its funny that he's using co2 with a mars light? That light isn't even strong enough to overpower a plant, I mean maybe if it was a inch over the canopy.. :wall:
Then why don't you say that instead of acting like a little bitch. Fuck ill forget this site altogether. Its not about the money or the smoke I've got plenty of both just trying to have fun.. and sure don't need to argue.. thanks

Guess people could have simply said there is better places to spend money when growing.. Yeah I'd shut it off.. Sell it or save it incase you decide to build a sealed grow space. Glad you decided to grow its a great hobby with a great reward when done properly. I've only got a dozen plants under my belt so I'm no expert grower. I keep growing because its a challenge and great distraction from the bullshit going on around us..
