Say it ain't so: it's root rot, isn't it?

Water temp: 62f
pH: 5.6
TDS: ~1500 ppm (lucas formula full strength, so 24mL micro, 48mL bloom in 3 gallons water)
Tent temp: 73f
Tent RH: 75%
Plant age: sprouted on 2/14
Nutes: GH Lucas formula, Southern AG GFF @ 1:20 ratio (1mL GFF in 20mL water, used 1mL per gallon of that)

leaf problem: IMG_20210308_113143.jpg

Roots: IMG_20210308_113204.jpg

I just did water change #2 yesterday and pH/EC hasn't moved much, so it's not a swing. When I did the water change yesterday, only the first two true leaves were showing problems and the roots were a lot whiter. The roots do not feel slimy nor does anything smell musty. When I did the first water change last weekend, the plant grew like a fucking rocket but by the end of the week it started to slow down.

overfeeding, probably nute lockout now (Mg deficiency)

i'd flush for 12hrs minimum with RO and start back much lighter nutes.

don't water down the southern ag: 1mL undiluted in your bucket is fine.

water temp too low: more like 65 to 68F

let pH range from 5.5 to 6.1 if you want to set it at 1 value it's 5.8

Sounds like a solid plan. Gracias.

Looks like your feeding it to death..

Rinse the roots gently with lukewarm water and flush
I thought so. I posted here yesterday because I realized PPM's were way high but I am following the "Lucas Formula" and got a similar response. As soon as I am able to re-fill my RO stock, i will recalculate my nute regimen. Hell, i will likely just buy some Gro and use the GH schedule instead of Lucas.

yes , i posted on your other thread.

i found out the hard way about Lucas too: 8/16 will burn the shit out of small plants. and yes, i know they say you can use it from start to finish. nope.

the impt thing about lucas is the 1:2 ratio of micro to bloom. for a plant that size, you probably want 2/4 or 3/6. then slowly work your way up: 3/6, 4/8, 5/10 etc. i never could get higher than 5/10. make sense??

Remember always start at half of what the charts/label say. Go from there.
I did for the most part. I just assumed being 3 weeks old, it was ready for full strength. Especially since near every thread re: lucas said "full strength from the git go". Lesson learned and at least it's just a single plant.

last piece of wisdom: when using 2/4 or 3/6 Lucas and RO, you "might" need some cal/mg too. minimum dose. once i got to 4/8 or higher, i didn't need it anymore.

Thanks. I do have some Botanicare Cal-Mag+ already. I'll add a couple mL next time.

Flushing won't do anything to remove nutrients already in the plants so just remove half or more and top up with RO water to dilute the mix. They should start growing again normally in a few days.

500ppm is more than enough for plants that size.

Like @rkymtnman said above, don't follow a fixed amount for Lucas just use a 1:2 ratio of Micro to Bloom to get the ppm you want. I've seen a lot of peeps burn the hell out of their plants using way too much following the standard instructions which make it seem you need to use that fixed amount.

Good luck.

Danke. I will implement both solutions/suggestions! I got back from my water run a couple hours ago and already have the plant in straight RO pH'd to 5.8 and I have my diluted bucket pH'd to 5.8 and PPM down to ~600 waiting for ~08:00 tomorrow morning.

Many thanks for the quick help, folks.

Damn really? I did the 8/16 and my plant seemed to handle it. Come to think of it, the leaves were a lil dark. To much N maybe?

At least in my case, I am going to chalk it up to questionable genetics. I got my seeds in bulk via donation and those donations ultimately come from random breeders that seem to exist only on Instagram. I don't want to name drop when talking about it in a negative light because I am more than grateful that they exist and do what they do. It has been a GREAT help for me learning the ropes because I have a shit ton of free seeds to experiment with so if something happens to a plant, I don't have to fret about how much that seed cost.

there are so many other variables to account for though: RH%, temps, lighting, etc. i blame my high elevation here for it but others also have trouble getting up to full strength too.

Nice. It's cost me a lot of money in seeds to learn. Nobody around here ever has bag seed anymore! Lol

I'm gonna do another run with an indica this time and see how it handles it. The last one I did was a sativa and it grew balls to the wall. It'll be interesting to see if the Indica does the same.

I was able to run full on micro bloom, I dont ever remember running that high though. I thought full Lucas on micro bloom was 900 and change. I can’t see running fnb full though, shit burnt roots at .9 ec looked just like OPs lol.

Mine came out to 1300ppm on 7 scale. I didn't run it in veg but a week though. I wouldn't run it full strength from clone.
