"Biden White House Sandbags Staffers, Sidelines Dozens for Pot Use"

Seriously, Biden did wrong. His punishment will be no Matlock for a month!!
For firing 5 people for multiple reasons including being a regular smoker of weed (I am assuming if they are smoking more than 15 times a year) to work in the White House?

If so not being able to watch that show is about the right punishment.

Whatever, you're the one on a cannabis forum dedicated to dispelling the myths about cannabis use, carrying water for an administration that has committed themselves to moving closer to ending its prohibition. Didn't we just have this conversation 3 pages back about this forums members being incapable of accepting differences of opinion when it comes to anything Democrat?

If it was just firing 5 people, I might accept that those employees did something wrong, but they have punished many other people for their cannabis use such as asking them to resign, having them work remotely until some arbitrary standards have been met and subjecting them to random drug tests like fucking criminals, all from their ivory tower overlooking a legal state.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I can live with that

Isnt a 'administration that has committing themselves to moving closer to ending prohibition' a good thing?

I really don't care much about Biden's cannabis position though. He is just this side of Obama on it and the states are leading the way to legalization on this. But I do think that it is disingenuous to act like the only reason those 5 people were canned was because they smoked pot.

It still stands. But acting like you have more information than you do to talk shit is not a 'difference of opinion' it is bullshit.

Like you did here. I don't think you can actually say that the reason for this was because they smoked pot. Ive read the same stories and for all the cases they had multiple reasons.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I can live with that

We did this once already and I gave up early because it didn't seem like it was going anywhere, but something I noticed was that you perceive any critique towards dems and being the same as saying, "they're all the same", but that's not what I've said at all. So maybe let's work in the reverse and you tell me what you dislike about dems. Because there's no way any group is perfect, so let's hear your critique for dems and the manner that's acceptable to express it.
Here you go: the Democrats have given us a non functional President and a very bad Vice President who is already being prepped to take over. They have trashed the National Debt just as the past Republicrat agenda has done for the last 100 years. The Libertarian Party speaks truth with reason and facts. Just try listening to Ron Paul on the Liberty Report and just see how much you agree with him. Knowledge is the key to our problems not Government spending.

I think the non-functional part isn't accurate. It seems Biden has been pretty busy thus far, it's just that he's not a giant attention whore, so we don't hear as much about it.

Definitely agree that adding 2T to our debt isn't a good thing and definitely not a good start to Q1. I worry that the more debt comes under the spotlight, the more we risk inflation, which devalues a lot of retirement/savings and hurts a lot of older folks. And I do understand people's Covid-economy concerns and I'm sure they would reply with something like, "you would rather the gov't did nothing?!?!?", but as with most things, the best answer lies somewhere between the extremes, like probably not giving money to those unaffected from Covid(as much as I've loved having it to pay down debt).

Awww man, did you fall for the Libertarian thing? They're just a republican cousin. They ignore a major issue, which is the freedom to quality of people/society relationship. The better people you have, the more freedom you can have, and of course the inverse. We have less freedom than yesterday because we're worse than yesterday. With how shitty we are, more freedom just means more people taking advantage of other people, which I think if you dig deep enough, you'll see that the biggest proponents of Libertarians are those in a position to take advantage of others(cough*Bezos*cough).

Sorry, can't do Ron Paul, he sucks big time, imo.

The Paul's are propagandists man. They talk a lot of shit that sounds all angsty and almost makes sense unless you actually take a good long look into it. Then you realize they just want us to go back to the boom bust economy pre-1930's were we had recessions every 2-4 years here in America.

I have taken that long look like you say. I guess we all perceive truth differently. The truth is Dr Ron Paul is also a Doctor of Medicine. Woodrow Wilson and the Federal Reserve has created a real mess by handing Government a blank check. Just listen for a moment where they go over what amounts of money are being spent to line the cronies pockets with our money. We must draw the line somewhere in what is truth and what is false. I know we have ventured far from the original post which only shows how intertwined politics becomes.

The problem is that history disagrees with that. Since the Federal Reserve started using monetary policy to keep the economy stable the recessions are far fewer and less severe that when we were doing what the Paul's would like.

That is because what the bullshit economic voodoo theories that the Paul's push mainly benefits the wealthiest in our nation who have the cash to buy up all the hard work of the people who built up the capital during recessions.

Economics is not political. It is a shame that right wing trolls have made it that way since they pulled their 'Tea Party' scam.

so where do you see that it was more than 5 terminations? i'll need a link because i've scoured the web +

Dear 20-somethings,

If no one has told you yet- get it in writing.

You receive a job offer outlining the basics (EM congrats and welcome!) and then you receive the contract which unsurprisingly may not be given to you until training (that's on purpose). You have to sign and/or initial every page, hand it back and since your so happy because you've made it..you don't even read it. They may or may not give you a copy.

your contract is your employment road map. ask for it prior to training..don't be scared you have every right to see it. if the company balks about sensitive info, they're trying to hide something. tell them to redact anything specific to corporate intellectual information- there won't be any. this has your pay plan, bonus structure, rules on territory (mine is from sales standpoint).

you also want to review an employee handbook.

if they won't give you those two items in advance even with a little conjoling? pass and i mean that.

:roll::sleep:

The Act is based on tax reform advocated by congressional Republicans and the Trump administration.[7] The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported that under the Act individuals and pass-through entities like partnerships and S corporations would receive about $1.125 trillion in net benefits (i.e. net tax cuts offset by reduced healthcare subsidies) over 10 years, while corporations would receive around $320 billion in benefits. The CBO estimated that implementing the Act would add an estimated $2.289 trillion to the national debt over ten years,[8] or about $1.891 trillion after taking into account macroeconomic feedback effects, in addition to the $9.8 trillion increase forecast under the current policy baseline and existing $20 trillion national debt.[9]
