Max watts for a 2' by 2' single plant grow?

Bugbee grows lettuce and hemp, not high THC plants. The dude has a lot of good info, but take it all with a grain of salt. I guarantee you that some plants will reduce yield upon being subjected to overabundance of photons.
Hemp is marijuana. Right on that it’s low THC, but that’s only a variance in strain. Sure, different strains like differing environments, nute regimens, etc, but these changes are simple & routinely handled by all of us every day.

Nope. Hemp is cannabis, not "marijuana". "Marijuana" is a slang term for cannabis which is relatively high in TCH. Hemp on the other hand is cannabis which is low in THC.

I bring up lights that are 100 watts, supposed to be for a 2' by 2' grow, like one plant basically. Yall laugh because its only 100 watts. So I am curious, what is the max watts you think you could safely have LEDs for a 2' by 2' single plant grow without harming your plant from too much light? I know the devil is in the details, but just very generally. 300w? 1000w? More? These 100 watt ones are pretty darned bright in the small space they cover lol.

Thanks!
150w for 2x2 is enough to cause problems if not well taken care of.

I would definitely agree. I dont want to specifically endorse mars hydro here, but the ts1000 that i have can fuck my plants up on full blast if im not careful. It took me a bit to realize it, but because they were in veg and were on 18 hrs, they were getting too much light and it was stunting their growth.

Mine causes plants to freak out if more than 50% in veg, dli too high is my guess. I think mars spectrum is too high in blues, l dont veg so not needed. But grows and flowers well from grows lve seen.

Marijuana / Marihuana are descriptors appearing in legal documents, such as Michigan Medical Marihuana code / laws, so my own humble opinion is that elevates the word(s) beyond slang. Cannabis, by contrast, does not appear in the code. But does that really matter in our little friendly discussion?

The topic at hand is whether hemp, used commercially all over the world for clothing, rope, etc is essentially the same genus & species as what we smoke. Right? Well, what we call “hemp” is (specifically) Cannabis Sativa. Or so it appears in laws & legal docs across the us.

That’s my humble 2c, & yours is equally welcome.

You should research the origin of the word "Marijuana". It was invented as a scare tactic to keep people from consuming cannabis. Also, the whole Sativa/Indica discussion is completely wrong according to Robert C Clarke, the worlds foremost expert on cannabis botany, and "hemp" can be either Indica or Sativa, but what does he know?..

I think we can all agree that whatever we call it, we need to cherish and take care of it. Cannabis is a beautiful plant that is unlike any in nature.

Words change with time and what we refer to things as change as well. In the end, what we call something is completely meaningless.

I prefer the term cannabis, not only is it correct, but isnt confusing. From there you can have sub categories like hemp, low thc and higher cbd, and marijuana which would be considered high thc with lower cbd. Again, in the end it's all meaningless and subject to change in time.

I setup a budget tent with Qtniue 150 watt led for $92 in a 2x2 tent and it’s working great. Looks like a Mars knockoff. Invest in a par meter if u don’t have one. They’re quite affordable these days.
