Modified Jacks 321 schedule

Aeration will always raise your pH, as will potassium silicate. Humic and fulvic acids are by definition acidic. I water/feed my coco/perlite 3 or 4 times a day.

I mentioned it because I saw someone else in the thread ask about it.
I asked cuz you guys really seem to have a grasp of it. 90% of what I have read about it, silica, says its very helpful. But when you add it, it blows up your npk.
I have attempted to modify it it to a NPK of 3-1-4, and a K-CA-Mg ratio of 4-2-1.
Potassium silicate .3g
Jacks @ 3g
Mono ammonium phos. .3g
Cal- Nit 2g

What is going to be best? Midway into bloom phase, maybe wk4 drop the silica? Then add potassium sulfate for 2-3 wks at .3g per gallon to add sulfur and keep the npk in check?

Finally took the plunge to 600PPM. If the tip burn is resolved I'll leave it at that. If not then I will omit the epsom salt and maintain the same ppm. Could just be too much mag sulfate.

Jacks makes monster buds but I'm going to discontinue using it. It's nearly impossible to flush out of my peat/perlite medium. Joints won't burn for shit. Bud taste harsh and burns black ash. My mixture had been used in a previous grow but I only watered with plain water for 10 weeks and still taste and burns like crap. Im going back to EJ organic nutes. I recently flushed plants in 3 gallon pots with 5 gallons of water through each plant till drip dry. Hopefully these got flushed. Ive went as far as just running some under the tap for 5 minutes straight to flush this crap. Just harvested so we'll see if this flush worked. I have to say ej makes some of the tastiest bud I've ever smoked!!!

Which does, your message is conflicting.

Whats the conflict? Jacks isn't easily flushed, buds are harsh, and burns like crap and EJ makes tasty buds. Conflict?
at no point will you ever "flush" anything from a plant.

Flushing will never ever ever change the final product.

Nutrients are nutrients. It dont really matter much where they come from. It is all the same shit as far as the plant is concerned. N is N to the plant.

So ur saying u can't flush medium. I don't think I mentioned flushing out the actual plant. If u flush all nutrients from the medium then the plant will naturally use up anything stored within its leaves because it doesn't want to die from starvation. My goal was to flush out all jacks and let the plants leaves turn yellow from the absence of any nutrients, stored or in the medium

So you say you didn't feed for 10 weeks and the plant still tasted bad?

After 10 weeks of using just water there was no jacks in there.....so how did the jacks make it taste bad if it was all gone.

Just saying jacks ain't the problem causing your bad smoke.

I feed till the day I chop and everything smokes fine.

This is my modified Jacks formula at peak feeding dose:

Jacks 5/12/26 = 6g/gal
Calcium Nitrate = 6g/gal
Gypsum = 1.5g/gal
fulvic acid during veg
Silica
Chitosan during bloom
No Epsom salt ever!

Why? Starving the plant when it's trying it's best to swell in the end is counterproductive.

That's like saying you want to starve a cow before slaughter because the meat will taste better. The only thing you'll get is a skinnier cow.

If you have poor end product, "Joints won't burn for shit. Bud taste harsh and burns black ash" then it's the result of an improper drying process.

Agreed. I've done both to see. I've had other people do a blind test. There's no difference in taste or harshness. If your bud is harsh, it's most likely due to moisture, not nutes.

U have no clue homie. When my leaves are burnt as shit and no nutes have been added in 10 weeks then that has nothing to do with drying. Keep on moving bro!! The medium has too much nutrient buildup. Cmon dude

When buds burn and u get black ash that nutes people. Buds are stored at 58% humidity. Yall act like I'm a newb. Lmfao. Burnt leaves when only giving water means too much fertilizer salt in the medium which equals black ash and harsh burn. 10 weeks of straight water and plants still couldn't use up all the nutes stored in the medium. Jacks is too strong for me
