Newer grower here. Im in week 6 of flower. All my strains are 8 week flower according to seed manufacturers. I was planning on flushing when 10-14 days out. Took some pics of trichomes but im new to this and not sure if these are milky or clear. To mee the majority seem clear. Ill post pics with it. Anyone with a little more expertise want to let me know what you think. Thanks all!
Nice frost.

Flushing is such a waste of time yet everyone lowers the ec towards the end, why if salts in it makes no difference?

I've collected the sap from two plants one flushed one not.

So I know what's inside, it might make no odds but absolutely 100% has salts if you feed salts.
I'm sure it goes without saying I'm not meaning any form of starvation, lol you know what I do.

Interesting thinking!

Sap is the blood of a plant. Just like a human's blood it consists of many things including electrolytes, nutrients and waste. No matter what you feed the plant it will have those. It has to have those to survive.

Yes but a direct comparison between the two have different % inside the product, I concede that might be a good think idk but my best guess would be best without it.

My last crop I reveged a root ball it dripped for weeks, after a fresh dispute about flushing I was booting myself for missing the opportunity :-( so I sure wasn't missing it this time lol.
Only for my sanity :cuss:

No two metabolisms are the same. If you were to measure my blood now and your blood we would have different levels of Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium et cetera. Same with plants.

I really commend you for thinking about this and formulating an experiment even though I disagree with your conclusion.

Because the plant doesn’t need as much as before?

by that logic you could just pour straight nutrient liquid into the plant.

The sap thing is interesting, Ive never seen anybody tap anything besides a tree.

I don't doubt science, but that can't be right, I'm not saying that it makes a difference but there can't not be mineral residue in the bud, the plant sucked it up before getting chopped?
Assuming that the plant is converting the minerals then x days of water should have less mineral residue, I deduce a cleaner smoke from that.
You are absolutely correct in your thinking, please do not allow these people to interfere with you using common sense. They will tell you that flushing will hurt your yield which is a lie, they will tell you that flushing doesn't improve the taste of your buds...how can they judge? At the first sign of cloudy trichomes I stop all nutrients and only give water for the last 10 to 14 days and my plants turn out GREAT. Dense, tasty and potent. Keep using your brain my friend, HAPPY GROWING!!

Oh man you are a wealth of insanity I'm glad I found you. Flushing a plant will hurt your yield side by side comparisons for me in rooms of plants. Given I grow commercially what sense would it make for me to keep feeding when I could cut cost by doing water only? Flushing doesn't help with taste or really anything other then making your plant cannibalize itself. My bud is smooth and tasty I have unbiased ppl try along with labs I know what's there and how much impact Flushing has on a crop. From everything I've seen you pull you plants early. Even though you seem to "breed" you grow alot of bag seed......

Guy just started growing, created his own super strain from bagseed, and is the authoritative source on flushing. Guy hit the trifecta.

Silly question but have you actually harvested a plant that has been fed properly until the bud is fully ripe? How many plants have you harvested? I'm new to indoor growing and did get a bit of outdoor under my belt. I don't know enough to give op accurate advice on the science of flushing and most likely you don't either......

Hello everyone, this is my first grow in 8 years and I am READY! I have 2 feminized Gelatos and 4 bag seed queens going. At the moment they are rooted in Organic Miracle Gro soil under a 120 watt Cree daylight bulb with a dome. I have a 27x27x63 Mars Hydro tent. These ladies will be vegged under a 400 watt mh which I may dim down to 200 or 300 depending on how effectively this 4 inch cfm fan can remove the heat. I always give the girls 7 days of low light right after germination so they can get their roots kinda situated before I hit them with the HID POWER. I plan on a 21 day veg and then flip. I am going to top as soon as I see the 5th node. This will be an organic grow and I will be using my own homemade water only soil mix after I transplant into my flowering buckets. I have the light them 24 hrs now but I will switch to 20/4 once I put them under the big light Saturday. Wish me luck...

Just to be clear I think only a lunatic would flush before the plants are matured and ready to chop down.

Edit... Lunatic was a bit harsh but it's just not my idea of keeping a healthy crop.

I grow organic in soil so obviously I don't flush. Dont have a dog in the fight but ive heard that you cant flush a plant. You can flush soil but the plant doesn't flush. Dont know the science or care to or if its right but.....

Based on my wealth of experience I can attest to the hardest part of flushing is getting your plants in an array close enough to the toilet to enjoy the 'misting' while staying in the lights. I haven't dialed in the decibel level the plant needs to hear the flush but research continues apace.

PS Lower your nutrients fed toward the end but don't flush. That broscience is a myth.
I bought one of these so it gets way up in their during the flushing process. Works freaking wonders on the taste
