Getting some surgery tomorrow

It’s orthoscopic shoulder surgery, so I’m not super worried. First time getting surgery though and abit nervous.

I just plan on eating ungodly amounts of edibles for the pain, any of y’all got some good tips?
Outpatient? You'll be fine. 4 rotors torn and dislocation; I went in at 6:30 am and was awake by 12:30pm. Don't skimp on the PT after. Will be kinda shitty next 2 months but not unbearable

depends what they are doing, but I wouldn't refuse the pain meds they will prescribe, just in case. I had rotator cuff repair done that way, and it was pretty easy, but the months of PT that followed and wearing a sling 24/7 for weeks sucked.

Good luck!! Next I need a total shoulder replacement on the other arm. NOT in any hurry for that one!!

Take the meds they offer
They are watered down opiates and not enough to hook u
And then go to PT as long as your insurance covers it
Then pay for a few extra months usually only like $25 a month to continue
Much better than any gym for targeting recovery
Good luck

Yeah I been putting this one off for about 3 years. At first I was real worried about the pain meds, cause I used to be an addict. My plan was to ask for 3 days worth to get me through the worst of it.

But y’all are right, I don’t see myself relapsing over a few hydrocodone. I should not be as worried.

A tip though...They often recommend sleeping in a recliner the first few weeks, but I bought a wedge and was able to sleep in my bed from day 1.

And ice packs are your best friend.
