So u dont think the .95 is enough from the .98 ems to make a significant difference? I do see that my therm. Could be off 3.6° +/- wow lol almost 4° sure would move my leafs close to ambient if its showing me a 3.6 - . lol
???
u states it showed -10 off...
usually difference is -1 or -2 under LED

how many leaves did u actually measure? and from above or below? btw stray light can cause false readings
My thermometer is a push and hold the number so all I have to do is click it I go through a plant and click it 25 times or more all the way around the room on each plant just to make sure I see a good average.
I pretty much take the temperature from the top set of leaves on all the plants not really down low and it is under the light this is the picture of the way the lights and the plants look currently but I do take twenty or Thirty readings of each plant but all from above it basically while standing above it

I just measured a few black bodies plastic, cloth & metal in my room with both 0.97 & 0.95 and they all came out in between 22.1-22.3°C
so it may not make much of a difference

It just holds the value when you let the button go is all I was trying to say like if I hold the button and go all the way around the room it'll change every second but I can like basically click it while I'm looking at it on each plant multiple times and get an average of what I see you know and what what location I'm in on the plant which is usually always from the top

does reading change when the lights are off?
leaf temp at lights out? I have not checked that. The tent itsself is on an automated temp and humid exhaust and intake fan controller. When 72-74 lights on, its usually 69-65 lights out 18/6 schedule. This is also First time tuning lights off in veg for me. First 2 runs was on 24hr 7

So sayy maybe the solo cup hanging in the middle?
Yes, that should be good. Look at the chart I posted and look for something with a similar value.
Your fixed .95 meter is fine, that's only a few % different from .98; not enough to worry about.

Compare the two and that's your leaf temp offset

best return the meter for a refund

So after playing with it for a bit the room is running right at 72 to 75 and the temperature gun chose the Solo Cup for the first minute being 69 degrees and my Leafs being 66 to 67 everywhere but the more I took the temperature in the longer I kept playing with it the lower all the numbers kept being all the way down to where it was telling me the cup was only 64 degrees and my Leafs were 61 however during the first minute that everything was holding nice and steady no matter what Leaf I touched even the lower leaves on the plant said 65 at the lowest and the highest was 67 66 so along with the cup showing 69 the tentpole also showed 69 then back to the Leafs and they all still showed 67-66 and then about after a whole minute they all started every time I looked it was a different number

I may need some schooling having a dense moment so is the objects in the room the actual ambient room temperature or is it the fact that both of my thermometers or dead center in the middle of the lights but one of them is under a solo cup remember I added the to gavita controller temp sensors just to be sure that I was getting correct readings of the air

And what I'm gathering from everything I just wrote and re-read I have a 3 degree offset even though the gun was showing different temperatures they were still three degrees apart between the cup and the Leafs
