Or partner up with Despensery sell it all for 80-100 oz over time that's over 1000 pound idk
Only problem with that is that they are already selling it for $50 oz... pathetic. I visited a local Dispo that we've done biz with since 2018, and I came in about 5 o'clock. She said they have had 3 customers all day long. We are truly at the bottom of the Valley of Death here. She's a fairly new owner, taking over the very first Dispo in this town.. she looked stressed the fuck out.

Poor lady. She has a reason to be stressed out. She's probably regretting her business decision. There was a reason the other owners sold.

Exactly… how much money can you possibly make with 3 customers a day?… AND she owns a grow op, so that’s costing her more money on top of that. I don’t know anyone making money in this biz, and I talk to a lot of people across the State.

The numbers don't add up. If she was busy all day that would be one thing but 3 customers doesn't cut it. Rent, licensing, taxes, utilities, etc... All that stuff adds up. There's probably kids in town making more money with a lemonade stand.

The crash was inevitable. It started as a free for all and ended in a free fall.

You read the occasional post from someone that says there is always going to be a high end market quoting prices of $2000 lb. I just shake my head and think to myself, no there isn't.

I personally think it will just fuel the BM... not like that's already going on with Patients cardholders. The amount of weed you can grow personally is crazy. A household of 4 can have 24 mature, and 24 seedlings..... who's gonna smoke that much weed?... it's going on the streets. Hell, I just made almost 2.5 lbs with just one plant.

More here than drug stores, filling stations, and maybe hamburger shops combined.

We grow way more than we can use. We have talked to other MMJ growers that say the same thing. We are talking about much smaller grows next year. Only what we know we need for meds and a few autos for the fun of it. Oklahoma law now says you can keep what you grow so as a MMJ I can now store enough to not need these big grows every year.

As the new wears off you will see two or three plants in a garden or in pots. It won't be a big deal.

I have only two rules for growing here, watch the sex of the plants and don't sell anything that comes from here. The right to grow is too important to than to sell.

I can't wait for this round to get finished and harvested, and sell my license/equipment. It's really turned into a shit show. Regulations are getting worse, METRC fails to transfer your order to a Dispo, stupid pricing, ... just not worth it anymore. Im ready to settle down to 4 plants in the Mother tent, and chill for a while.

I think you are going to see a big drop in the size of MMJ grows. Most people don't mind trimming for a couple hours a day for a week, but for two years now trimmed long days for three weeks. This year we'll take only the best tops, each person trims what they want and the rest goes to the freezer for bubble hash. My best oil comes from bubble hash.

Yeah, this last run is gonna be fat buds only… the mid/smalls are gonna be oil.

I make oil by whatever method suits me at the time. The best and easiest to make, at least for me, is bubble hash. You wash it to as clean as you want it to be with cold water, dry it, just a little more than cover with EC, filter and dry. (Twice with EC and filter). Decarb and it's beautiful amber oil. If you evaporate the EC you lose about a cup running a few oz of keif. I distill it out and get almost all EC back.

After the bubble hash is made you don't even need to keep it cold. Extract at room temperature.

When the numbers don't add up it's time to move on. There are going to be those that want to hang on and it's going to cost them in the end.

It sounds like you're one of the smart ones that understands when to call it quits. It's not going to just suddenly turn around so hanging on is a losing endeavor.

There are other commercial growers on this site that are hanging up the towel.

Yep, same boat. I chose not to renew this year and shut my little grow down. My situation was, I’d inherited my deceased family’s large commercial building, had enough cash to get some equipment, and no shortage of desire to grow and learn what I could while I could. Not everyday that opportunity comes along.

I knew the business side would be a challenge, so I was putting my effort into finding some really unique stuff grown organically that would “sell itself”. Ultimately, I did it because I wanted to pheno hunt on a scale I wouldn’t be able to otherwise. I expected it to sell better, but by the time I had any kind of decent product, the market was flooded. I had some primo harvests, and literally everything was done by me, down to the hand trimming and making custom bag tags. Had a pretty decent thing going for a couple years. I just couldn’t be ok with the prices dropping and the obvious lack of knowledge about or desire for true quality. The market seems completely ok with junk herb with no regard for quality. Not my market. There’s some things in this world that are worth finding the really good craft/high quality stuff and not settling for bottom or mids: coffee, dark chocolate, food, herb, water, wine, etc.

Have no regrets tho, got connected with some of my favorite breeders through IG and whatnot, and found some really good herb. Made a bunch of seeds, and now just have a few projects going at the house. Relieved to be out, not dealing with Metrc and all the bs. I wish things would really turn around and the market would value craft and high quality small-production, if only for the plant’s sake to be valued more, especially regarding pedigree. Each his own.
So I say, F the market, grow your own, and grow a variety of older and rare genetics instead of 10 different types of the same bottlenecked genetics and hype crap. Case in point. Everyone has their own perspective. I mean that’s frosty, but it looks like it was grown with all kinds of salts, too much N through flower, too green, too dry, probably tastes like salts, chlorophyll, and plastic, no nose, machine trimmed, and people eat it up. I’m sure it has like 28% the tho.

I’m not claiming to have the best around, but there’s a difference when things aren’t rushed for the market and chosen for hype. Again, not firing shots, just my opinion. This is out of love for the plant and for the people that enjoy it, everyone benefits from better-grown and sourced herb.

I have no doubt it’ll get you high. I just like knowing I’m not smoking something that’s been sprayed by who knows what and grown with synthetics. And I like classic things in general, but my own experience has been that pedigree matters and there’s such a variety to explore, it’s unfortunate that people buy into hype and flawed tests results. I love test results, but I didn’t do all the little tricks people do to inflate the numbers like drying down to 9%, rolling in kief, etc. broke my test samples down like I do to put it into the grinder, properly moist and cured. Honesty doesn’t tend to get you far in the dog eat dog market this is unfortunately..
