Strip or no strip?

I won't advocate for stripping a plant bare, but selectively pulling a few fans here and there won't hurt anything if you're looking for better airflow and maybe better light penetration. I've never seen any difference in bud though. Lollipopping works, but that's more about removing lower bud sites.

I get a little more aggressive with removing fans toward the end of flower, just to make the trim job a little easier.
yeah this strain grows huge fan leaves and im in dwc so growth is big anyway. Flowering is fully under way now so hopefully these next few weeks we start to see some smells coming through :D

I never remove leaves. Budsites down low yes but not the leaves. I see people blasting plants with light and going through co2 tanks and they strip the plant of the leaves, the part of the plant that is using the light and co2. If the lower leaves respiration rate is higher than assimilation rate the plant will drop the leaf itself.

Im not running C02 in my room mate and I’m not touching them till harvest now. Plants are about 3/3.5ft tall

Ok so today is day 26 from 12/12 flip and my ec has gone from 2.2 to 3.0 since Friday. Ph is stable at 6.0 and they are drinking. Question is why do i have no signs of burn or anything in the leaves? They are definitely dark green so heavily fed but other than that they seem okay to me?? Anyone shed some light on this. I had some left over solution in my tank so i have filled with plain water and diluted to 0.8/1.0 ec which i will put in to hopefully bring ec down

Shes consuming more water than feed, so feed less. I prefer to see my ec falling slowly rather than increasing at all.

Yeah I lowered the ec to 2.0 with plain water last night and will monitor from now and do a full change on Saturday at a lower starting ec. I was more wondering why theres no real signs on the plant ir leaf

when you have big plants it doesnt happen first day.plants fills up then starts burning same way when you flush i doesnt stop burning same day it needs to clean the body first.

Ahh i understand, they look good still so im hoping this doesn’t bother them too much. I think I’ll start dialling ec down now as tomorrow is start of week 5

For mid flower, not bad, frosty indeed!
Hi mate, yes they are also starting to develop a nice terp profile now too. The strain is Apple fritters and I don’t think they grow huge colas more stacked individual nugs so hopefully everything will turn out okay! I am using a lumatek zues 600w pro and with that amount of light I would’ve expected slightly more by now but hopefully from wk6 onwards they start to pack on

I checked out the ppfd map, looks optimal. My current run is ending well, but in mid flower it wasn’t as frosty but about as big so it can still pack on a lot, depending on genetics.

I am working with a “low yielder” that might just be a decent round for one plant. 8-10 z’s .

Slightly too close to the canopy with my tops(13”) but most mid canopy is getting 800/1100 umols. I am also running a Phillips 600w hps so 1200w total in a 9x5. Everything seems optimal so we’ll just wait, only slight thing is ec has started to go up since week 5 so I’ve been topping up with phd tap water to counter until fresh weekly change

Wow, just checked original thread post for strain info. I remember this post when it first came up, nice transition!

My run with photo indica heavy strain took a while just to show preflowers, let alone that much frost like yours.

Wild guess, it is indica heavy photo? Either way it has lots of room to yield, you have plenty of plants. I go by ppfd, not sure what that hps would be equivelent to, only did hps one time.

I think I last had brought to my attention to not use too much ppfd or exceed DLI. I lst and scrog for height and extra colas for more yield but you can still get 30oz easy from glancing through complete grow journals in hydro.

I think 8oz per 4 sqr foot is about the limit or 10-12 every 2.5x2.5 of space. Anything more takes extra talent.

Haha, thanks man they kept stretching until about week 3.5 then stopped, its actually a 50/50 hybrid but seems to be more indica leaning structure wise. I have 7 in that space and am looking at pulling minimum 3 oz per plant with 1200w of light (getting between 35/45 DLI) of qualified bud. Ec appears to need dialling down now as its on the rise. I have the hps for heat but will probably replace after this and go full leds

So tomorrow is day 42 and im still slightly underwhelmed by the bud size for this stage. Buds are very frosty and look as though they will be dense but they are just rather small and haven’t really put on any weight. Hoping that it being a 9/10 weeker they will still pack on yet?? Any thoughts

I am dealing with a slight over feeding issue. Ec is rising but oh is stable and i am consistently lowering it throughout the week to keep ec down but plants look healthy other than that
