How long does a 6" Carbon filter last you?

Worst filter I’ve ever bought has been the AC infinity 8”

Best filter was Can
I've always been a can fan guy. But after they switched owners, I got a can lite, and it didn't last long at all. Spoke with the guys from Kootenay at lift expo just after the buyout and they explained the whole thing to me. Made alot of sense why the cans weren't the quality they were before

I've had my 6" Vivosun filter for years. Can't smell a thing until you open up the tent.
No smell at all? For some reason I just don't believe that. Boy if I thot it possible,
have a grow tent, in a room, and no smell in the house or in the yard, i'd start me a grow.
Why's it gotta smell so strong!

You really need a tent to contain smell.
5x5 tent, you need 8" filter & 8" inline
4x4 tent, you need a 6" carbon & 6" inline fan.
2x4 tent, you can do both of those in 4"
3x3 both in 4"
TY Doc.
Well, replacement filter carts, just on a glance i took at vivisun, were like 6 bux. I mean that's affordable, isn't it, if they last for 2 or 3 or more years?

How does one reactivate the charcoal in a filter? Heck how do you get into the filter?
Usually they’re riveted or tack welded, or if you’re rally lucky the cap is held on with screws. You have to grind off the rivets or break the welds on the cap. Remove the charcoal and either replace it with fresh, or you can wash the carbon in H2O2 and cook it in the oven until dry. For the trouble, I just replace with fresh.

Once you remove the cap (sounds hard) & replace the activated charcoal, how do you reseal it?

I use a 6” ac infinity inline fan that has been running nonstop for the past 3 years.. I have it in my attic right where a vent is (in the middle of the roof line). I have a 4x5 and a 2x4 space connected to it with a 6” and 4” ac infinity filter inside the tents. I replace them once a year and seems to do the trick. Sometimes I get a wiff outside but it’s for a split second.
