What is Christmas, Really?

I believe it is possible for Christmas to involve non-christian Deities.

We actually consider ourselves very fortunate.
After my father got stomach cancer, my ex gave me the boot and I spent much more time with my parents that I normally would not have.
We have had the past five years to come to terms with everything.
I still cry when I think of his smiling face sitting in the shade by a creek in a lawn chair waving hello one happy sunny summer afternoon before he got sick and was still dreaming big.

Sorry to hear about your dad.

Now go do something he would have liked you to do to celebrate his life.
