aerogarden short rider grow . seeds came FINALLY!!!

so my sees finally arrived today after a long time of waiting. got like ten free and a wallet tho so its all good haha. time to take out the tomatoes and clean that baby out and grow something worth growing!! anyways i just put em in a ziploc bag for now wrapped in wet paper towels to germinate. as for my current setup its going to be the aerogarden pro200 with the stock lights for now, a airstone in the tank, and a temp gauge to keep an eye on it. i also have ph up/down a ph test kit and have used black gorilla tape to cover all unused holes . im also using white paper on top of the empty spaces to keep it cooler. well sorry for the long ass post but im baked. any help is appreciated
 
also i was wondering what would be good nutrients to use that i can pick up at a store rather than order online. i would like to just go to the store and get it since i have them germinating now and would like the nutes asap
 
well i know you dont need em til after about the first two weeks but i would rather get them from a local store than order offline
 
ok ok so any hydro store should have the fox farm? there is one fairly close, also for my ph up/ down the up is called alkaline buffer and its likea powder, and the ph down is called acid buffer and its like a powder. will these work fine?
 
ok well found some foxfarm locally today!! seeds will be done germinating soon, i went and got two 26w 6500k bulbs today with lamps for em, and cleaned the fuck outta my aerogarden im ready to go!!! i cant wait ill keep yall posted
 
ok one of the seeds was big enough to plant so i put it in one of the sponges and put the little plastic cover over it for now, i have the two 6500k bulbs on as well as the aerogarden lights . i think im just going to run them all 24 hours a day until veg stage, maybe threw that also as the are short rider autoflowering seeds.
 
I think u only need the ag stock lights for a week or two... I have seen If u use extra cfls for your seedling you might end up causing some burnage on the leaves. Just a heads up. Good luck! im germing 2 blue mystics right now =)
 
ya i realized that and turned em off after like ten mins i was just high at the time lol. but ya i cant wait. post a link to your grow journal ill check it out
 
Quick question please help !! So my sponges weren't gettig wet so I moved them closer tothe water drip thing. I'm assuming the water is supposed to run onto the sponge keeping it wet the whole time right???
 
right thats how it works.... I dont have a grow journal yet and someone stole my digital camera =( When the roots touch the water u want to turn of the ag pump and just use the lights and incorporate an airstone or 2. Or else your sponges will get mill dewey and get moldy... An u dont want that =)

I keep mine going 24/7 and no mold.
 
man this sucks!! i hate waiting the seeds were germinated so i put some holes all the way thru the sponges planted the seeds and put em in the ag. now im just waiting for em to sprout up. only been a day but still!!! im so f in excited for these babies to get started
 
well showing a little more progress. the one in the front has started to sprout so hopefully either tom when i get up or after work she has some pretty little leaves!!!
 
finally someone decided to write! lol thanks but ya that front one died i replaced it and th new one is doing great ill get some new pics up tom of what im workin with. since its my first time i dint know to split the sponge in half at first and it kinda fucked some up so i have three with normal sponge and two with sponge cut in half. will the ones with normal sponges going to do ok or what
