All viruses are written for PC's because the users of PC's are cheap bastards that can't get it through their heads that cheaper isn't always better. Windows will always have a security problem. OSX was written with that in mind, and will never have these kind of problems.

people are forgetting about the fact that most OSX viruses that do exist only exist when the user says 'yes' to something. . . . .

with windows that is not so . ..

only reason I prefer mac is not because of functionality, it's because of /usability/ I find the user interface way more comforting and useable . . .. PC is a bitch by comparison . ..

heres my favorite example

tbh id like a mac laptop. Something simple to have simple shit on. I built my own pc for cheap as tits like 5 years ago and it still runs strong as hell and runs todays video games (like MW2) at high across the board....

I ride a gsxr 750 too 8)

Yeah if you are a gamer the choice is obvious - but aren't Macs actually better for Photoshop and shit? I think a better photo comparison would have been a luxury car (Mac) safe, reliable, and powerful.. not the fastest car but it is no slouch vs an import or "tuner" car... if you know what you are doing they look good and go too, but if you don't, or just really don't feel like all that bullshit.... they end up like this

well everything i expected was said "no viruses" ya thats true for right now but i see it as a open area for hackers psshhh give it a lil more time. "its easier to use" ya if you dont know how to use a computer.

not one person has givin a real reason why mac is better. asisde from supposedly no viruses and soo easy to use TELL ME WHY ITS BETTER? because you didnt know how to take care of your pc?

ive had my pc for over 3 years now and yes ive had viruses on it but nothing i couldnt handle its actually made me more computer literate.the latest was windows secuity suite which took me about 30 mins to get rid of.and now because of that i can access any webpage at my job from what i learned removing it.

well pc is better because they use any parts pc(personal computer) is what you want to make it at a very resonable price.mac uses apple parts ONLY which is ripped off OVERPRICED pc hardware from there stupid priced company.

so ya if your a 12 year old girl that doesnt understand how to use a computer then by a mac.soon enough you will have a big enough base to make it worth a hackers while.

@Sr. Verde i love that pic you posted frakin awesome

mac propaganda.
anti-virus is free.
my three year old computer plays all new games
with a 9 year old operating system and a 1 year old video card.
i built it myself, i fix it myself.
go edit a photo with your lamp... i mean computer.

I was PC all the way. Hated Macs. Till I actually tried one. It's not the hardware and components, it's the OS. MacOS kicks Microsoft's ass. I still use PC's and they're fine, just require way more maintenance. I guess it's what you're willing to put up for for the price.

lol ok bro sorry but there's a good chance I know more about computers than you do. not that I need to prove it to your raging ego.

a dirigible is amazingly stable and elegant.
the helicopter owes its amazing maneuverability to it's inherent mechanical instability.
that which you call high maintenance, i call flexibility.
so cruise the clouds in your dirigible, choppers are the workhorse of the world for a reason.

As has been said, the only reasoning given for mac versus pc that stands ground is the user experience. But heck, that's not subjective or anything, i don't see how any OS's user experience can suck per say. There is a button of the internet, you click it, ok, so the internet works. There is a button saying folders, or local disks etc, you click it, there is all your crap, you want to find a file, you click on the search button and it searches. Most of the reaon people claim one over the other is simply because that is what they are accustomed to.

If it is just the software that makes a mac so superior, then why are folk not saving a ridiculous amount of money and just making a hackintosh themselves? They work like any store built mac, and cost half the price. it's win win surely. There is no way i would pay the hundreds of pounds of premium on my email/internet machine (laptop if you may) for no additional features, just to use OSX.

I own both, have been a PC user for 15 years.

Mac has taken the top spot for me and everyone that has ever been round my house!

Macs are much, much, much safer to use, FACT(I work for a anti-malware company), the experience using a mac is so much more user friendly, much cleaner interface, all this cant play games bollox, I have OSX and Windows, my mac plays anything that runs on the windows platform.

Cost is not an issue, look at a total cost of ownership and you will find a Mac is a better long term purchase.

The thing that really takes the cake is the look of my Mac, people who see it are amazed at the size of the screen, the crisp display and not having any 'box', the overall experience is just so much more cleaner and professional.
