If you had 1-1000 HPS + 1-1000 Halide + 1-400 halide what would you do?

I have one HPS 1000 watt that has a batwing reflector and one 1000 watt halide with no reflector just hanging bulb also a 400 the same way. (makes me think of doing a vertical set up) Space is no issue so room size suggestions and number of rooms can vary a lot)

Suggestions on what to use where (veg or bloom chamber) trying to get as much output as possible.

yes i think you are right, your hps would better be put vertical since you have space, place plants around lights, use 400 to veg and the 2k's to continue vegging then flowering . yourr bill will spike

Run perpetual - the 400 MH in a clone / vegging space, the 1000s in a flower space with the hps on the early flowering plants and the MH on the late.

sell the 400W, buy an led supplemental for the flowering room and do exactly as I did. Check out the grow in my signature. The LED is creating some awesome trichromes. The metal halide is awesome as well. Either way you cant loose. I don't clone, I start everything from seed so I have a couple of cfls to start the seedlings. If you are hell bent on cloning then maybe you want the 400W laying around. I would just toss them under the halide though.

you make me laugh so hard! so if someone had hemeroids, you would also recommend a 1000$ LED? so the question is if you had 400+2000wat should i do? genius answer "buy an LED" geek

LOL cops never come to my house. (minus some severely raging parties) And its a legal grow site :)

Look, I love my setup. Love it. I am totally impressed, If i were an "LED geek" I'd probably grow with all LEDs. I don't. But leds have their place. If this guy isn't hell bent on cloning, then having an LED for supplemental lighting is a fantastic idea when XS Brain enters flower. The question posed is "what would you do?". I had a 1000W MH, a 1000W HPS and a 400W metal halide. Guess what I did? Tossed the metal halide and copped an LED for a touch more than what I sold the MH for. I would never spend more than 500 bucks on a light, plasma, led, HID, or whatever. So there it is. Got anything else constructive to add?

You'll need two 15amp circuits for sure.

I'd go vertical like you are thinking. Probably do something with Aeroponics. Maybe a DIY coliseum style with towers of 3" PVC piping with sprayers running down the center.
Or maybe more stadium style NFT/Aeroponics using 5" acrylic fence posts, or maybe a drip system with coco slabs.

Definitely vertical though.

about cloning I get clones for free and in 16 ounce cups in soil. I usually can get as many as I want off my plants so I do that since it is a fast way to get females/ no headache. But also grow from seed which I clone off of. This allows me to trade clones for any other strains I desire.

Dosent have to be switchable. If its a HPS ballast then all you have to do is screw in a MH bulb. You only need a conversion bulb when going from MH to HPS.
