Thoughts on democrats and republicans.

The democrats like to characterize the Libertarian and Republican party as greedy, but don't consider themselves greedy.

58% of people who make less than 30,000 a year vote democrat. 40% for republican.

52% of people who make less than 50,000 a year vote democrat. 45% for republican.

52% of people who make 50k-75k are republican. 46% for democrat.

56% of people who make 75k-100k are republican. 43% for democrat.

Is a republican who makes less than 50,000 greedy? Isn't he going to get a bigger benefit from the democrats than the republicans? Why doesn't he vote what would get him the biggest benefit then?

The people who vote republican are saying "We worked for this money, and should get to keep it"

The people who vote democrat are saying "We don't have enough money, and we want some of yours"

Is it greed to want the ability to keep what is yours? Or is it greed to want what your neighbor has because he has more than you?

How can you accuse Republicans of greed and not Democrats? Are not the democrats saying with their votes that they want something that isn't theirs and that they didn't earn?

Also, very interestingly.. on average, democrat voters are poorer than republican voters. However, we hear that democrats are more highly educated than republicans. If more college educated people are democrats, then why do you not see higher income levels in the party? Why are republicans who are less educated in general make more than the democrats? What would cause these numbers? Is it because many republicans instead of going to college took up trades and they all make 50k+ even though they were uneducated in the traditional sense?

Well, I think that they are the problem. Polarizing the bottom 98% is how the top 2% get what they want. Christians vote for wall street execs because they will support their religion, its an ugly relationship. Democrats are the party of "everyone else" Neither party represents the American people... just our most extreme views.

Was it just me, or was his entire speech "I hate rich people"?

What gives poor people the right to tax rich people while not paying taxes themselves? I understand paying taxes, and I am not rich, but why should I pay 15k in taxes when my neighbor who lives more or less on the same level as me is getting free money for being a drain on society? It would only take tariffs rising to totally stop the flood of imports from China, and make America turn back to manufacturing. You cannot set the laws up against rich people and get mad when they leave the country with their money.

hmmm, i had no idea i thought that. thank you for informing me of the contents of my own mind using such a handy sweeping (and false) generalization.

i voted democrat in many of the races last election with the hope that everyone gets abortions and civil rights.

let me ask you cathorsis, why are you trying to characterize democrats as poor, greedy, jealous folks that want to take people's money? that is perhaps the stupidest thing i have ever heard, besides that voting democrat entails wanting to steal other people's money.

perhaps you can make some more sweeping generalizations that will explain it.

You hope everyone gets abortions?
abortions for every man, woman, and child!

i was just being whimsical. i echo the sentiment of others on this board in saying that while i would not mind seeing abortion gone forever, i would like to see everyone have the right to one, if need be.

What is it called when you take property from someone when they don't want to give it to you?

You then justify it by calling it something else and say it is just or fair. Either way its the same thing.

I don't think any better about republicans than democrats. They are both about the same. One wants to control my finances, one wants to control my personal life. Though in retrospect both of them want to control my personal life. My issue is that the democrats point the finger at the republicans while they are doing it.

It is because they know deep down that when they take money they haven't earned that it is immoral. Just like it is immoral to tell someone what they can put into their bodies.

depends the scenario.

if you are talking about taxes, you have two choices: pay them or leave society completely.

no king decreed that you must pay taxes. no authoritarian dictator mandated that you pay taxes. it was actually done by ratifying a new amendment to the constitution, in the exact fashion that our founding fathers made possible.

democrats pay taxes too, ya know. those taxes often end up supporting welfare receiving republicans. why shouldn't i make a hasty and sweeping generalization about how republicans are greedy, jealous people that just want to steal what democrats earn?

When you donate money to charity, you are giving it to them. There is nothing wrong with giving someone something, or them taking it from you if you are offering it. There is something wrong with taking it from them unwillingly.

The constitution is based on equality for everyone. A lot of the federal governments actions are gray area. Making half the population pay taxes to the other half isn't equality by any means.

when i donate money to charity, they did not technically earn the money, but they take it anyway. is that immoral?

is it immoral to tell someone not to put cyanide into their body?

I should of phrased that better, probably. If I want to eat cyanide, what business is it of anyone elses? Who gets to decide where the line is drawn?

It is one thing to pay taxes for roads, schools, ect ect. However, why should I pay more taxes so others don't have to?

The real democratic American idea is, not that every man shall be on a level with every other man, but that every man shall have liberty to be what God made him, without hindrance.
