Takin Care Of Business A Prize Winning Journal

Lets Talk Germination:

We all love the old paper towel, it always served me well. however i found that the last few times my seeds cracked and NADA.... I Felt this was a
moisture to air ratio problem. As the temps got cooler this happens. i read here all the time, so and so seeds sucked! none germinated...... this has happened to me.

For these Seeds i used a off the wall method. i No longer clone in rockwool, therefor i thought about using them for moisture. i soaked the cubes in Ph'd water and sprikled seeds on top.

Now i cover them with a dry paper towel

100_2672.jpg

Now they are bagged and tagged and there is no way there is not great Air-Water ratio's
100_2677.jpg

i place them in a box to make it dark. Then i give the a heating pad on low....

DO NOT ROAST OR COOK your beans

Good to see what is going and already has been a very imformative journal, some interesting strains and not any of the usual we see really, some good choices!
looking forward to it!
Jolly

Well it has been a little over 30 hours since we placed or seeds in for germination.
The temps in the box are 92f the Seeds loved it!

you can see them through the paper towels time to find some dirt....

Now not every seed cracked on day one so i put the front runners in the mud, and replaced the others back in the Box. i dont give these seeds a break, once they break the gorund its 600 watts of halide These are burning the 5500-6500k spectrum

a Day later, All of our seeds are in the dirt ! 100% germination Rate

For a detailed view of my planting I poke a hole with the pencil eraser, afterwards i place the sprout tap root down in the hole. I take great care not to touch to distirb the tap root because doing so will likely lead to it never coming up or mutated.

Ok I cleared out a 3X3 tray to pack all these in because it will be a few weeks while they start to mature. If you add more aeration to your soil this growth stage can shorten 5-9 days, however we are building a special root ball, for massive rapid nutrient uptake, with specific layers of aeration Pardon the old tattered clones they will be removed shortly.

100_2739.jpg

Over the next few weeks they will be forced to use the nutrients in the soil, at first signs of deficency i will start nutes, fox farm ocean forest is pretty good on the initilal foods, i expect to repot and feed most of these on day 14-21 The amount of nodes is a direct relation to the root mass. I want to Repot ASAP however space is at a premium so waiting a few weeks keeps a 4x4 tray free and lowers Electric draw by 400 watts
(i use 600 watts on 3x3-4x4 and 1k for 4x4-5x5) Seedlings dont need hid so intense. however the Extra lumens will pack the nodes tight!

Lets talk about the lights briefly

So for this tray the light Reflector is the Normal Silverstar "cool Tube Plus"

100_1421.jpg

They have a 6 inch duct for air cooling,

A top of the line silverstar dimple reflector,

And most important the BEST footprint from a air cooled tube.

The lights are Veg: 600 watt Lumatek electronic Ballast

The Veg Bulb
Sunmaster 600 Watt conversion Bulb. (IMO Best 600 watt halide on the market)

Vegative hours 18 on 6 off

For Transisition stage

1000 watt Lumatek Electronic ballast

First day 18 hours After 48 move to 16 after 48 hours drop 2 more hours. Repeat till you reach 12/12

For the transition stage the bulb will be Hortilux super blue

For the final flower stage

Hours 12 on 12 off light Hortilux Super Hps

So at this point We let the plants veg a few weeks, hopefully we will heve about 5 solid nodes in 20 or so days

One things to consider while there are so young is NOT feeding, all too often we feel that they are starving, if you feed to young expect plants to look like this in no time.
100_2229.jpg

100_2230.jpg

So if you see this yellowing, and you have been feeding dont even think flushing will help, you CAN NOT overwater, overfeed your seedlings

DONT DO IT. it will set you back weeks or even kill your plants

sorry! to change the subject but I just bought the pure blend pro and bloom.will I need other ferts.I noticed you had the koolbloom.do you mix the organics with the synthetics are regular ferts, like koolbloom?

First off Thanks for asking, I have not used this food i wanted to try something simple...... or maybe different. i looked at flora nova, however it seemslike a pain to mix and it was heavy.

I got a food schedule, however it doesnt even reflect the Sweet lines they have. There might be a updated one on thier site.

The others are optional, you can wait to purchase i like to be prepared, i flush my plant regulary also allowing me to use more additives and foods..
I am eager to see how the plants respond to this line, it definatly needs a ripner, i will likely employ bio nova npk 0.13.14 for this soil. the powder is for the fox farm feeding schedule, alot of the time i use 13.14 again, the main reason is less salt is BETTER taste and less to flush and convert to sugars

Note pay attention to the foot notes at the bottom. RO users like me strip the water , therefor we need more additives

nice! seems like you did your homework.my last couple of grows where not organic.Im excited about going organic,Im just waiting on my rez d39 seeds to get here.m39is the mom and sour diesal is the father.I love this shit.
