The Truth About Flushing

I'm in week 8 of flowering and ready to finish up before the chop and want to try it, probably on the dark. So, you think 3-5 days of constant wetness in the dark will do them some good?

Thanks for your insights!

I will for sure :)

Id like to add something i observed on my plants. My plants started as clones in rockwool...
After that i transfered them into an aeroponic system and then switched to bubbleponic.

And during that process, i overwatered my plants 2 time.
First, when they were clones in the rockwool.
Before transplanting them in the aeroponics system, i was giving them more water than needed.
So they kinda stopped and then when in aereoponic system they went BOOM , they were growing more than 1 inch a day.

And the second time is when i switched from aeroponic to bubbleponic. I had a cheapo air pump and it was obviously not enough
since my plants where starting to act like they were overwatered, but then i bought a bad ass pump. And they went BOOOM, im not sure if im too stoned but i saw them grow like 3 inch in one night (altho it was in flowering).

So The thing is, does overwatering your plants (withouth making your roots rot(shortterm) ), could be benific for the plants since each time i drawned my plants they came back stronger after.

On mother nature side, When its raining for a long time and the plants finally get sun and its drying up, they might want to grow faster before the samething happend ?
Its like in real life, The difficult times make the good momments more enjoyable

Sorry I havent posted pics yesterday but I noticed alot in the last 2 days with the Molasses Drowning.....

My plant really sucked up the Water/Mol alot quicker than just water. I had to top her off a few times. Yesterday morning I topped her off and it wasnt much but it seems to stop sucking water and this morning when I checked the plant her top of the cola was very flimsy like. Reason I say that is that before I drowned my plant the bud was very tight, dense and hard. So I didnt know why this morning the top was all sqwishy like, so I said thats all and chopped. Also when drowning with Molasses/Water, it really stinked up my tent with a horrible smell, I dont know if the Molasses/Water mix with my tent being 79F rH 26% had anything to do with it giving off smell. When I took a wiff in the bucket it was nasty smelling....LOL

Anyway here are the pics her this morning.

I chopped her as soon as the lights went out. Here are some pics of her cleaned and trimmed up.

Yeah I am a Star Wars Fan....

Now comes the time for her to dry and I will be sampling as soon as it is dried prior to going in my jar for curing. I am hoping it is a smooth smoke like my previous drowned plants....I do cough a lot so I am going to take a huge hit and see if I choke. I will keep you informed on the smoke report. The bud overall IMO is sweet fresh smelling and sticky. It seems to have changed alittle with smell during the process. Also not as dense as it was a few days ago but I am not sure why it got flimsy today. Anyone think or know why?

Just keep in my I am trying something out of my box here with Molasses and Water and its more of a learning expierence for me than anything, I am all ears for any comments or lessons of teaching...LOL

Peace All

That nasty smell in the water was probably just things growing and/or decaying with the massive amounts of sugar you were giving em. Hmm, might be something to take into account , what diseases and whatnot are going on in the last few days of a heavy molasses drown.

looks tasty... I'm eager to see what you think of the molasses addition. I've been thinking of increasing my molasses content but probably won't until after I see what you've got to say!

It really had a weird fowl smell to it, almost like a strong pungent shit smell. sounds nasty and all but it really did. It wasnt till the last day (yesterday) where the smell was bad from the bucket.

Fully expected the stink...it is from the fermentation...exactly what we wanted correct? the fermentation caused the smell change to melony...you stated a cantaloupe or melon smell...actually was most like honeydew melon correct? Fermentation is the smells ...bad and good....

I drowned one of mine with ~7.5ml of Sweet Raw, per gallon of drowning water, and it stunk the dark room up big time. I didn't notice any major difference in the buds, but I honestly didn't have anything to compare it to. I likely will just use plain RO water next time to avoid that smell from the stagnant succanant in the water.

It could also have been from anaerobic bacteria setting up shop, it's the perfect environment for them. That's where I'd put my money if I had to bet, especially with how he described it.

Ok the bucket in which the molasses/water mix was in smelled like a fowl sharp shit garbage smell, my plants cola didnt really have much smell from the beginning but right before chopping it started to take on a melon like smell to it. I am not sure what that means, just trying my best to explain the smell of the bud and bucket and how completely different. I have a question about my bud, I noticed that this time with the drowning my buds seem to break down some from being solid and dense to a little squishy like and fluffy could this been cause of the drowning w/molasses? I have drowned 3 other plants and never had any of those buds gotten fluffy or squishy after drowning. This is somewhat different than just drowning with water only. I just hope that the smoke is good as well as the high. Couple days before I sample. Any comments or suggestions as to what might be happening? Thanks

@Rasp, yes bro I might be with you on just using water, unless the smoke is insanely smooth and shoots me to the moon. Thats how bad the smell was in that bucket and in my tent....

well it woulda helped with the smell....how is the dry/cure progressing?
Im going to take pics of how it looks now, very nice looking buds, shrunk but not as much as I expected....The buds are not solid dense but do have a consistency through out all buds. Smell is no longer a Melon smell, more of a earth green with a hint of pine-sol. I say pine-sol as the cleaner. LOL I am going to give it one more day and then i will sample, clip and jar for further curing. I am excited and been very patiently waiting to sample. It hard to watch bud dry and not sample....LOL

Here are the pics....I ended up pinching a piece off from the bottom to sample and I was actually really surprised on the smoke. As you can see the ash color meaning I am not smoking any nutes. Very smooth smoke, no hint of harshness at all. When I exhaled the smoke, i noticed the flavor of smoke being like a pine tree almost if you were to taste one...LOL I am not nothing like Lumi when it comes to smoke reports, his smoke reports are like peotry in motion...LOL Not dogging you whatsoever homey, I love your smoke reports!!! Ok now back to my smoke here...see I am already stoned. I lose track a lot when high...Sorry.

I would say this bud is cured already, it was that good and smooth. I would even put my neck out there and say its even cured more than drowning with regular water. I would even say can my bud get anymore cured then what it is now? I am really interested in seeing what the smoke is like in a week, but knowing me it wont last that long cause I am really enjoying this smoke!!!

Overall, I am actually impressed with Molasses/Water drowning. Now would I do it again with Molasses? Yep, but I would rather do it with 2 clones form a mom and do one with water and one with water/molasses. Dont get me wrong, the smell was horrible and it was a mess to clean but the way my 1st hit of smoke was erased all of it.

Hope that helped in any way, I am stoned, I been smoking another piece while writing this, took me 30 minutes to finish this post...LOL

i don't flush either, at least in the sense of the word. i do over water when i water. the 'making it rain' bit does work very well. especially if you want trees. :)
