Walmart vs. Target

Okay, I wanna know for any one has worked for Target, and if they liked it or hated it.

I worked for walmart for about 8 months and i hated it so much, so I quit.

I applied for Target and I just got a call for an interview and I wanna know if its better or worse then walmart, google isnt my friend today

i would say fuck walmart even though i work for sams club lol, sams club ftw, but ive had a few friends work at target, they say its pretty chill, havent heard anything bad out of the normal from them.

The walmart i worked at was FUCKEDDDDDDD, I had a dick assistant manager, I had a really cool ZMS and Department manager, they were the reason I stayed for 8 months.
We got called to cashier like 4 times a day, I never worked in my assigned department, i was always over on the grocery side because they were being cheap asses and not hiring anyone for that side,
and there were days i would work 6 hours alone because they didnt know how to scheduled.

I'm gunna go in for the interview see how they all are or if i "feel it" ya know?

It's actually really hard to schedule at places like Wal-Mart because of the people they hire.
They will virtually hire anybody.
... & do drug test, which doesn't matter in your situation.
It's hard to schedule because they tend to hire people just out of high school or under 25.
These people tend to be more "immature" or "inexperienced" as you would call it in the work-field.
Thus, becoming lazy. Most the time, people are scheduled but don't show, or switch with someone & that person don't come, etc.

Target is going to be cleaner, better customers, more "fair" treatment from management BUT A LOT more strict.
Wal-Mart will be dirtier, any type customers (almost as bad as K-Mart), & the treatment will be borderline illegal BUT A LOT less strict.

... Trust me.

Self respecting members of society tend to shop at the much cleaner, Target.

Walmart hires people i guarantee you cant even spell their own name.

Target puts you through an interview process with a HR department.

Walmart is by far one of the most degrading jobs on the face of this planet, unless your a boss.

I worked at Target and Walmart, for about a year each. Both places I worked in the back unloading trucks, stocking, and doing inventory. Walmart's management is fucked... theres way too many managers and supervisors, and NONE of them do shit or know how to do their job. They're useless.

Target's management is much more streamlined. They're much more efficient, and they at least act like they give a shit about their employees. Unlike walmart, where they openly have the "we could care less about you" attitude... it's wears on you and it's really depressing working for a place like that. At least it was for me. I worked there for a year, and none of the managers even bothered to try to learn/remember my name. It pisses you off.

Target has much better pay, and generally much better employees and managers. Although it's still shitty retail, it IS way better than walmart. The hours suck though. At walmart, I worked from 4pm to 1am... the same job at Target, I was working from 4 AM to 12:30 pm. It sucks. Working those hours, you wont have much of a social life, and your tired all the friggin time.

I hated walamrt, i had the attitude of kind of caring and after working at that place, i dont give a fuck anymore.

I applied for the backroom, Picking stuff, and taking it to the floor, When I worked at walmart I had shitty shifts, some nights id word 2-11, and the next day id have to be in at 7AM. it was Bullshit.
and id sometimes work 3-12, which sucked.

Target looks cleaner, has better quality merchandise that's still cheap, and the employees don't look like homeless people...and the clientele are regular people. Wal Mart is dirty, the employees are greasy and toothless, and the customers that shop there are just the scum of the earth/hillbillies

I worked wal mart (canada) for 5 years and loved it. Only had 1 dick duty manager, so I went to day shift and it was awesome. So many stoners, so much pot sold and nobody gave a shit as long as the work was done. I was stoned the WHOLE time I was working there. Best 5 years of my life
