Im talking about the lower 48. I have never had to pay to hunt so, sorry for your past experiences or what you have been told. I really like alaska and i would really like to go moose or elk or bear hunting.

Who's state you calling small? We can cut ours in half & it would still be 1/3rd again larger than Texas !
As far as the hunting goes - Texas sucks unless you like to pay big $$ to go afield. No public land to speak of, you have to pay ranchers/land owners to play there. Not my cup of tea.

I enjoy the unnecessary murder of ignorant creatures as well! I had to wait until I was at least 10 to hunt deer. lol

Unnecessary for him perhaps... but for me, Moose, Elk, Bear, and fish were the staples of my meals in Alaska, of course with locally grown vegetables as well...

You won't catch me in no damn grocery store.

And yes, I thank each animal I have killed... it's something I've done for years.

too funny what about the true history of crocket and travis among a few other northern white (dont think any of these texan folk heroes were from texas) trying to run while wearing dresses, to blend in with women who were allowed to leave, some heroes. glory seeking land thieves who got caught and had to pay...guess everything in texas is bigger including their jokes!

If you have the means to avoid murdering another animal, than yes, it is unnecessary. :) Being a staple, it is prevalent in Alaska no? So don't increase the surplus population. ;) Figure of speech of course. lol

It is indeed prevalent, many of my friends do not support the inhumanity that occurs at cattle farms and other farms providing sources of meat... and instead take what nature provides, when they can.

I have the money to go to the grocery store and buy my meat and my vegetables... but does that mean I'm committing murder due to my choice of not supporting the practices of those places and instead taking what nature has provided?

I don't think so...
