i'll be growing 9 plants (not exactly, cuz il be pulling out some males)

already have:
SEEDS lol
a 4x4x8 grow cabinet
20-20-20 all purp.
15-30-15 bloom
bat guano-seaweed fish-emulsion mix
*(these are the only ferts available)
grow mediums
3-gallon pots
seedling pots
digital timer
intake and exhaust fans
water proof pvc flooring
reflective sheets (dont know what material this is but it kinda looks like mylar, bought them from an office supply store for $0.25/sheet - will this cause any prob? toxic fumes etc but it doesnt smell nasty)
50gal water storage bin

don't have yet:
carbon filter (working on it)
400w MH (working on it)
400w HPS (will buy this weekend)
diy wing reflector
wirings etc..
should i buy lights for seedlings? can i go straight hps? how many watts cfl's do i need?
mylar (i just cant find one, not even emergency blankets! some stores have but they only sell by the bulk 65yards)

any comments/suggestions?
what else is missing for a poor man's indoor grow?

id get a bluelab truncheon nutrient meter brilliant tool and get a ph pen aswell, a lightwave t5 propagation light is perfect for seedling and vegative stage saves alot on electric bill look about you find one cheap

get the hps and upgrade the bulb to a high output spectrally enhanced bulb. they are not much more than normal and in my experience are the best for both vegging and flowering. its what i use from start to finish. some cfl or flouro tube sidelighting wouldnt hurt.

400 watt hps (this we).400 watt mh,(working on it). Get a 600/400 MH/HPS switchable,dimable.1 hood versatile,not bank breaking.

Check Craig's list and get a cheap reflector
ima make my own dude its waaaay cheaper hehe it'll cost me like $15 to make one compared to $100+ pre made ones
i just have to figure out the width of the medium size adjust a wing cuz it says up to 27 inches so i figured it might be 30+in cuz of the bends/curves

can anyone do me a favor? can you measure your medium sized adjust a wing's exact width (including the curved parts - use a tape measure) +reps for you! TIA

A hps bulb can be used for both veg and flower I have had 2 sucessful grows out of mine also is money is tight it is worth bearing in mind that while a 600w will produce a better yeild in a bigger area where the spead of the light is critical unless you end up with 9 females it would be an unnessary amount of light also it will cost an extra 50% over the 400w in the old energy bills. Just try to keep your buld as close to the plants as possible use the back of your hand to test the temp at the top of the plant if its top hot for you its too hot for them

i respectfully disagree, im using a 600w in a 4 1/2 foot wide almost 3 feet deep and 7 ft tall area and the 600w gives me faster growth when they are little and then better penetration when they are bigger over the 400w i had. the upgrade was well worth it imo and my only regret is not doing it sooner. 600w doesnt just cover more area. its also more intense and penetrates deeper.

i would love to have a 600w! but as i've said i have limited budget lol and too bad they dont have 600 watters available now(everywhere) if id order from them it'll take like a month or so btw i think im gonna do SCROG and im currently searching for a cooltube for the bulb.. any ideas?:wall:
