fan running continuously

i was wondering if anyone out there vents their grow room 24/7. anyone know if its a healthy thing to do? i have my exhaust connected to a fast filter (like odor sok). if anyone has any input or opinions, please inquire.

I have been thinking about doing this for a while now, but think that it would pull out my supplimental co2, so I dont know.

I leave the oscillating fans running 24/7 but the air exchange is on the timer. I don't think the plants require CO2 during dark phase as they are not photosynthesizing.I am open to change if anyone knows more..

that's what I do right now too. but I'd like to run my exhaust 24/7 to help lower my RH, which is usually around 60% during the light hours, but when the exhaust is going it gets down to about 45%, whichi is why I want to run it constantly. putting in a dehumidifier adds like 10 degrees to around 85 degree temps.

I use both a dehumidifier and an A/C unit that exchanges air + cools when needed. Runs all the time (12 hrs on,A/C cycles on at 85 f) Just a little higher power bill......

yeah, i can't do the a/c thing.... I'm pushing the power limit as it is. that's why I want to run my exhaust 24/7. do you think I would be wasting my extra co2 if I ran the exhaust all the time?

if you are not using supplimental co2, you should be just fine running your exhaust 24/7. your fan will constantly be bringing in fresh air, that can't be bad for the plants.

I had to add a 20 amp circuit when I hooked up the A/C.If you are adding CO2 you should NOT have the exhaust running at the same time. I get enough CO2 from constant fresh air,and by controlling temps I don't really need to add.

When the lights are off the c02 should be off, as plants for the most part have no need for c02 during the lights off cycle.

...so it wouldn't matter if your venting fan or any fan is running after the lights go out, it's a waste of electricity imo.

Myself, All my intake and exit airflow stops when the lights go out. As long as the roots don't get to cold when the lights go off, it can't hurt to leave the fans on (this is applicable if the fan running is an intake fan connected to the A/C or what not, bringing in colder air than the ambient air when the lights are out.)

The only time I deviate and let cool air into the growroom when the lights are off, is when I grow blueberry and want to see more blueish tones to the foliage. (The same way mother nature does it outdoors, I just make sure I have a small fishtank heater in the resevoir to keep the water at a constant temp) If no blueberry, the fans shut off when the lights go off and no fishtank heater is used.

Yeah I think so too. I just leave the oscillating fans running because I do not have another timer to put them on. I always have turned off air exchange during dark periods ,they don't need CO2 at night...

well duh yeah i know to turn the co2 off during the night cycle, and always turned off during exhaust times.

i have my exhaust turn on periodically during the night cycle to lower the RH in the room.

but that's what I'm asking, am I able to take away my extra co2 and replace it with the exhaust running 24/7 so that there is enough fresh air coming in all the time to now worry about the co2?

i have an entire room dedicated, it's about 7 ft X 10 ft X 7 ft (W x L x H)

but the actual flowering space is only a 4 x 2 tray.

these are old pics, right now both sides are full of flowering plants, the right side has the same plants that you see in the picture, but are almost 6 weeks flowering now, and on the left, all of those are gone, either harvest (the middle one) or male ( both outside ones ).

i amthinking of running my fan all the time also i have a huge humidity spike in the evening i am running it for 15 minutes an hour now during dark time....when my buds start to get dense i am going to up it to all the time .to reduce the risk of mold..

thats what I'm worried about, that's why I want to run it 24/7. 60-70% RH can't be good for full buds.

Of course if the intake air is high in humidity it doesn't really solve this problem. that's why I use a dehumidifier, it runs constantly too.
