It is way beyond setting the tone. Obama could summon Eric Holder to his office tonight and order that the MMJ raids stop tonight and Mr. Holder would only have two possible answers to that order: yes sir, or here is my resignation. Prosecution of the drug war is wholly owned by the president and for now that is Mr. Obama.

Clearly, these drug raids are part of Obama's political calculations, he does nothing without political calculations. Obama owns the drug war. All of you guys on here giving him a pass are deluding yourselves.

State attorney generals do not direct the actions of the DEA, that is done by the US attorney general. The DEA is under the department of justice, a federal government agency. The US attorney general is Eric Holder, a federal employee and Obama appointee, he is not a state attorney genera and is not electedl. US attorneys work for Eric Holder and are federal employees. It's no fucking wonder the drug warriors are able keep their boots on our throats with this level of understanding out there!

Thats fine and dandy but the DEA still rolls in for those state AG led crack downs. They still have their hands in it and feel the pressure from federal influences to go after the "criminals". You guys are talking about all of the raids during the Obama admin and those raids include state led AG raids because they involve the federal agencies when they deem a dispensary outside of the law. The IRS was involved in both state and federal led crackdowns. That's where all of this is coming from.

If Eric Holder ordered the DEA to cease and desist with the raids they would not be able to help with state AG raids. This is Obama's foot on your throat, it will do you no good to squeeze the wrong guy's balls to get that foot off your throat.
 
Yeah, when bush was in charge he was responsible for the DEA...

Obama has never heard of them...

Especially in an election year. Calculated, most assuredly. If these agencies got out of hand like this and it was against Obamas wishes he would reign their buts in quick as can be. Obama is not stupid. Matter of fact he is pretty darn smart. Lets see if he reigns them in now (laughes). Just wait and see if more raids follow this one and we will know. They must have stopped all drug cartel activity now and with nothing left to do and all those resources at their disposal...
 
It goes to show the Republicans arnt as politically savvy as they think they are. If they'd any sense at all they'd jump on this issue on the grounds of "States Rights" and "Access to Medicine for the sick" (thats the morality-spin part) and win alot of support outside their usual demographic as a result, it could even put Mittens or Frothy on the throne.

But no backbone from them either.

They are having too much fun throwing everyone they can in jail and calling them boogeyman. Hard to be the good guys, especially when their not, without having bad guys to point your finger at. Evil weed people.

Have they not noticed the fact crack, heroin and methamphetamine are almost pandemic? Go after that shit. Hell go after tobacco, but our plant never hurt anyone.

The DEA should go bust some meth cooks or skag dealers, there's shitloads of them to chase.

States rights is the equivalent of cultural relativism. Something is right or wrong, no matter who does it. Do you buy into Newt Gingrich saying his weed use was different because he did it for different reasons?

I believe in Universal Morality. You shouldn't be persecuted for being you one place but not another. We are the UNITED States, not the Fractured States.
 
This president is an utter disgrace. He is turning this country into mid 1930s Germany. Today was a travesty for this country with the feds raiding a medical marijuana training school while a school shooting takes place in the same area, then Obama coming out and denigrating the Supreme Court this afternoon. Some say he got word they are shooting Obamacare down so he lashed out at them like a spoiled tyrant. What a complete disgrace!
 
All I know is after the last election I had high hopes about Obama and weed based upon his own statements. Now there is only dissapointment and not just with things like the bust today. The other candidates appear to be some how worse to me than him, not real sure who is worse but damn. No candidate seems to be with the mmj, or impress me they can solve our economic and other problems.
