I was in the same boat as you just a couple weeks back... now I will be thinking of you as I smoke some apollo bubble :) Good times. Making 2nd batch of apollo bubble later tonight as well with the trim from the second plant. It's a good plant for bubble... tons of trich covered leaves.

Any nerds going to cannabis cup in San Fran in June?

I met Sub there the very first year,I think he just got married back then.My friend made two bongs for Sub & Mz.jill, one was pink.
I'm still high from that event...the VIP section was once in a lifetime.

shout out to all the weed nerds, and to Subcool. TGA All day! just wanted to say that i had a cloning dome that i bought from the hydro shop. it worked okay with my seedlings so i wasn't hesitant to put my 9 ace of spades and my 3 timewreck cuttings in there. but i was constantly misting my clones, as i would come back in 4 hours only to find my clones drooping. which i found was due to the dome not being tight enough on the tray which would allow the water vapor to seep out too quickly. so i would complete this process every 4 hours for over a week and still no roots. thats when i watched a subcool video, where he uses those plastic shoe boxes to clone in. so i re-cut and re-dipped my clones, as some of the stems started to decay i believe, and then put them in one of those shoe boxes, and behold, ROOTS!!!!!! a few of my cuttings are looking like they wont make it because of that treacherous ordeal, but thanks to subcool's vids, and cheaper but way more effective method, i now have at least somewhat a survival rate, which i expect to rise on my next attempt.

hey there Nox, try not misting your clones at all. Just keep your humidity up in the dome for a couple days.

I like to cut and cover then by about day 5 I uncover and just keep my Rooters moist. 7-10 days for roots on average for me.

if i hadn't misted at all they would be dead already. misting is the only thing that kept them alive, trust me i would see the results clones go from droopy almost dead looking to standing straight up in 25 minutes after i would mist. what mainly gave me my problems was the humidity dome i had not fitting the tray it was purchased with properly. basically, i wasted money on that plastic when i could have spent 5 bucks for a 5 pack of plastic tupperware like shoe boxes with lids, like the ones Sub uses for cloning and starting seeds and i wouldn't have had that problem.
Now that i am using these, i havent had to mist the cuttings! it holds the water vapor in perfectly!

damn right. im a little tight about this nute burn on 2 of my ace of spades, but i know this is probably cause of the Roots Organic. Cant wait for that TGA soil, did you guys see how green Sub's room looked on the last nerd episode?!?!?!!!!!

IMO yes also. Some expect 5 keepers out of a 5 pack of reg. beans. lol. If you are looking for one nice keeper, you shouldn't have any trouble.
ok yea that was what I am looking for, thanks. I dont usually run dirt but decided that it was needed to find a few keeper moms, search for the Cheese Quake and Plushberry keepers begins.

What's goin' on nerds. I was trying to figure out where to post this question. I figured some fellow nerds might throw me a bone. I'm looking in to getting a 400w HID setup for my closet and I was looking into prices. I see I can get a quality ballast for around $150.00, but then I see I can get the whole set-up, lights, hood, ballast, everything for around $150.00.

So my question is, should I piece together a quality set-up for my first go at HID? Or should I save some money purchasing a kit and get my feet wet first?

I thought about that and didn't wanna burn my shit down. I have mostly Lumatek ballasts, 2 quantums. I wouldn't buy cheap ballasts. That is just me though.

Well I use Hortilux bulbs also. lol. But I buy the shit off reputable ebay seller like the Hydro Source or tinyspondworld, or I go to Amazon. I get $140 bulbs for $72. 1000W Lumateks for $250. And I use a Master Lighting Controller for my ballasts. I do not want to be that guy that burned his shit down from grow op. lol. I try to plan ahead and order quality at discount.

Quality ballasts would be MY first priority though.

Thank you very much, gladstoned. I will take your advice because I, too, do not want to risk any fires. Spending a little extra money is definitely worth it when it comes to shit like that. Thanks again fellow nerd! I knew I chose the right thread for my question. Nerds are like family.
