That doesn't work anymore. McCarthy died decades ago and his witch hunt for commies didn't make America any safer. It actually only strengthened the fascists who wished to "spread democracy" worldwide, thereby ultimately weakening the country. Simply branding someone a socialist does not silence them. Silencing dissent is incompatible with American values anyway.

Really? And socialist libertarian isn't? How can you have liberty if you're forced or "coerced" into sharing your peanut and jelly sandwich? It's just a bullshit name for self regulated communism that tries to pit neighbor against neighbor, rather than community and the state in communism. In the end it's the same, but yours is worse because you need to have some sort of brainwashing for it to work. I'd rather have communism where the state is my enemy.

Read about the Spanish civil war. I have noticed you writing of concepts roughly aligned with Orwell's thinking but I have a feeling you aren't familiar with this particular morsel of history. McCarthy loved to misrepresent Orwell as somehow pro laissez-faire-bourgeois or even right wing but he wasn't. He was an anarchist of the red and black variety and all of his antifascism was ultimately used for McCarthy's anti-left witch hunt. Marxism is as much a threat to anarchy as it is to capitalism. I'm not trying to push views, I can easily concede that the left is equally susceptible to totalitarian dominion as the right. The Spanish civil war stands as historical testament that in the face of antifascism, the bourgeoisie brought up Bolshevism and Marxism because it suited them (fostered their privileged status) just as well as laissez faire or fascism.

Whether you prefer the presence of privilege or not, and I think you do because you're a prick, at least you can stop associating my views with Marxism. Privilege is tyranny.

Privilege is not tyranny, because privilage is something earned. Maybe not by a certain individual, but by one certainly. When I earn promotions at work because I do as I am asked, as stated in the contract I have with him, I get privileges that others do not, whether that's a bonus, a new car,more vacation, new bathroom, whatever it is it doesn't matter, what does matter is I earned it. To pass privilege is to bequeath, which is the right of every human. We all have the right to give what and to whom we please. If i work my whole life to save money to give to my child so he or she can live a more comfortable life, that's at no ones expense but my own. Its my time and labor that attain those riches. What I do with them is my choice, not yours. Because my child is who he or she is has earned them the right to my wealth. The blood in their veins earns them the privilege of not working, or pursuing their passions. I get to die knowing I provided that.
This is what all of us get to decide. If your pissed about the way the world turns, don't hate us,dont hate the other rats in the race, were just like you. Hate your parents for not loving you like I love my children. Hate all the people in your life that don't give a shit about you and reflect on the reasons for their decisions.
You being on the internet is a privileged dude, get real. Go to Kenya and tell me your not privileged. are you a tyrant for getting on the internet?

Laissez Faire is the doctrine of Social Darwinism. In fact, the phrase, "Survival of the fittest" was not coined by Charles Darwin, but by right wing British economist Herbert Spencer. I'm all politicaled out, I post on so many politically charged sites I don't even know what I am anymore, I'm tired. Especially with the gun debates. But I have never been a Paul fan, even when he endorsed my guy Ralph Nader. His way of thinking would of brought the US, whether we are truly economically fucked or not, to the brink. The fact he remained with the republican party says everything.
I'm a hybrid. I have no party. I don't even know why I commented here, so I will throw up the only presidential candidate that would of ended the wars in the middle-east, the war on terror, the war on drugs and the war on the middle and working-classes. Whether you like him or not I don't care, and neither does he.

libertarians means socialists the same way washing machine means onion soup.

in the distant past some proto-communists called themselves libertarians, implying they were embracing liberty, when what they meant was they were trying to tear down the non-utopian, non-communal state and the nationalism those states fostered for their own self-preservation.

meanwhile other proto-communists were calling themselves socialists, with the implication that they were embracing the social structure and attempting to perfect it, when in fact they were advocating dismantling the idea of private ownership of land and goods, in favor of collective or communal ownership.

BOTH those groups were subsumed into the maxist paradigm as Communists (previously socialists) and Socialists (previously libertarians) you need to read the communist manifesto and das kapital again. these books may have been written by marx and engles but they were drafted by the communist internationals that formed the core of their ideology.

orwell was a socialist in Ye Olde Tyme sense, when being in favour of civil society and the liberal progressive reforms of the enlightenment was considered "socialist". he was not in favour of proletarian uprisings, radicalization of society, bolshevism, state control of the "Means of production" or any of the marxist flavours of the week that were spinning around in the late 1800's and early 1900's. to make that claim is to be a liar. he was and forever remained firmly in favour of every man owning what was his by right, and nobody putting a boot on anyone's neck. Marxism in all it's forms offends both those ideals.
 
Last Time I checked, Libertarians don't argue in favor of and campaign for fascist statis like Obama for a year straight
