then they cannot investigate sales... its all about control.
also, there is 25$ fee which adds up for state.
you are 100% right....control and money

When we took the tour, it was flat out stated that they weren't going to be selling $400 ounces. Guess what? Quarters going from $90 to $110 @ Slater. And I'm guessing the extra $$$ isn't going into the pocket of the growers.
Caveat emptor.
On the up side, I'm sure it will make current caregivers happy . . .
First post, I'm a lurker but I have to chime in on this one.
What is that place thinking???? I signed them up as my second caregiver and my current caregiver also sold to them but his meds were a lot more there than I pay for them. Not sure how this program will help me as I am on a tight budget (but not ssi) and can barely afford the compassionate pricing I already get "on the street". I actually thought they would be offering decent meds at decent prices but it seems like all med and prices are all over the map, topping off way, way, way out of my price range. I was really hoping to try some new strands and give my caregiver some suggestions on what helps me best (MS). I'm extremely let down like the rest of the state. Does anyone know if the one in newport will be running the same big business, screw the public pricing plan? And franklinstein, I don't think the money is going to the growers, mine was so insulted with their offer that he won't be going back to sell any more
The problem is until they grow their own I don't think they are going to have the best. I don't see many care givers giving them their "best" at a straight $125 across the board. I have a strain that yields 20% less than most others but I continue to grow it because my patients love it. If I was growing for the centers I would never grow that strain, yeild would be my main factor in deciding strains.
How many of you naysayers have actually BEEN to Slater. Because if you did, you would know the most expensive ounce is $360.00. $55 eighths do NOT translate to $440.00 ounces. There are plenty of $25.00, $35.00, and $45.00 eighths available. There are also $176.00 mold free, tested ounces. How about you come down and see for yourself instead of listening to uninformed opinions disguised as truths by "butt hurt" members of this "community"? Yeah, I'm looking at you "Highflyr"
I was thinking the same thing about the labs possibly being distorted to benefit the labs and their future negotiations with growers. That's why growers who sell to these places who have any doubts need to have their products tested independently.Even when they grow it themselves i bet it wont be the best around.or much cheaper. They are growing for quantity not quality..And who knows what these meds test at cause for all we know KYG labs boosts or low balls test results to benefit the center.
