I am somewhat new to cooking. What is your preferred method?

I have been researching and there are so many ways to make cannabutter, I just want to know the method that YOU have had the most success with.

Boil the green in water and melt butter for a few hours, chill and seperate.

put green in butter on stove - simmer

green in butter in crock pot.

green in water and butter in crock pot.

green and butter in glass bowl in toaster oven.

There has to be a "best" way! I just want to know the best method to get the most or all THC into the butter!!!

thats works just fine...i run get a running boil, toss in ground up stems, green, etc . i makes sure its ground up pretty well.

throw in how much butter you need, mix mix mix mix let cool for some time...strain the bad shit away at the bottom and bam your good... or to make it super easy bro...

use you keef box when it get complety full ,and you wont have to worry about stems and shit, boil and butter, wait couple hrs, then seperate water from butter and viola.

I use a crockpot, with keller butter 2 hours high heat 2 hours low, use a cheesecloth to separate it and dotn squeeze (or the butter will be green and taste liek weed).

works everytime.

And that does the job? No worries about burning the butter? You get get a good buzz?

My Cannabutter has been really hit or miss - sometimes it is great - sometimes I can barely feel it...

I made some clarified butter and mixed with green in my toaster but I think I got it too hot and vaporized the THC out and messed with the potency.

I was thinking about sauteeing the green and the butter in the crock pot and towards the end adding some water so that the the butter floats and the green sinks out and leaves nothing to filter...

honestly my recipee was off the old overgrow.com sight, it jstu workes - I rememebr reading keller butter has more fat content and THC sticks to the fat molecules.

you also need to use some good smoke -- you will only get out what oyu put in.

last tiem i made cookies with it i had a party and friends were feelign it 2 days later :p --

I have european butter - and some really good green.

So no burning issues? I seem to remember that all of the butter solids burned the last time I tried in my crock pot...

I have not burned it, I dont know the brand of my crockpot though -- and im sure that makes a difference in the way it burns or not --- I have a habbit of buying more expensive epuipment so it may be a higher level a walmart one...

i cook alot and can tell when something is burning, like chicken soup -- once it hits a certain point it burns... and coagulates, do it one day when you are home abnd can spare 4 or more hours, if you feel it is to hot put it on low, and jsut keep it simmering. i am not sure of what the temp needs to be to release thc and all that, but liek i said my meathod has not failed me....

again its all in the quality of the bud, last time i made it it was with ak47 and black widow buds i had grown.

Alright! I am doing it right now... Spent all day researching various methods.

This is using a Crock-Pot Professional Crockpot

I put the green in the toaster set for 225 for 15 minutes to decarboxylate.

While that was decarboxylating I boiled water on the stove and put into a crockpot that was set for HIGH.

Dropped my european butter into the water in the crockpot and waited for it to melt.

Took green out of toaster and placed into a blender to grind.

Poured green into butter/water mix. (filled the blender with hot water and blended to catch any green/thc that was stuck to the glass and poured that into crockpot).

Covered and worked-out, took shower, waiting to finish cooking now. Stirring occasionaly.

Well - It worked but I am still not getting the hit that I want - I had a really good body high but it is not hitting the dome like I want it to. I need to get more green to up the concentration. Ill let you know how that goes later on this week.

BTW I was gnawing off my nails when the green was in the toaster thinking my THC was getting cooked off! LOL

Lmao. Im using pruned leaves to make a really small batch of butter. Probably, an 1/8th of leaf. But im gonna use all the butter and make a butter sandwich. Should this do something for me?

I used less than an 1/8 and I was feeling good on a few pats of butter. Adjust intake according to desired results.

However you make it- i recommend freezing the butter than re-melting it- when i have done this it has really up'd the strength... I once gave a brownie to a hippy older than myself- some 60 years and she said it was the best she'd ever eatten...

I saw a post earlier that said otherwise it will taste like weed... I like the taste of weed- and i do strain out the stems and seeds before putting it in- but if its well ground i see no problems with bud being in their- if you steep the butter you can be sure you dont burn it.

Steeping it is to bring it to a boil- then turn it down so it stops boiling then add the pot- it keeps it from boiling- you do not want to boil your bud... bad idea- thats when it burns and looses potency and taste like shit- a slow long slimmer- a freeze and a medium simmer works great...

I want to try it in my crockpot, I'll pick-up the keller butter tomorrow, I've got a bunch of trim, good trim.

I can't hang with that green taste, it makes me gag, so I don't think I'm going to grind it.

Hope you guys don't mind if I jump in.

does the trim have to be dry?like say i just harvested and i want to make butter immediatly.

I have only heard of making it when dry, but i dont understand any scientific reason why it wouldnt work not dry... other than that the clorophill that is still in the plant has not yet broken down and the THC has not yet solidified, meaning it wont taste as good for sure, and may be a little less potent,

Why dont you try it wet anyway and report back, as an experiment, for science ya know? lol
