My THIRD and much more informed grow.

[SUP]Iv learned a lot over the past few years. Much of that knowledge came from this site and all of its wonderful patrons. I just wanted to extend my gratitude to anyone and everyone who has shared their experience in growing our favorite plant. Without you this would not be possible. That being said I would like to share my third grow with you all. I have only just started my budding cycle so no buds yet, but I think things are going well so far.new cam pics 037.jpgnew cam pics 046.jpgnew cam pics 050.jpgnew cam pics 054.jpg This grow I have an un-topped master kush fem. I was able to get her nice and bushy by cutting the majority of the fan leaves off during veg. Now I have at least 6 branches as tall or taller than the main shoot. It has been growing under a 150W HPS lamp from seedling, and I added my Red spec LED to the mix for flower. Please share your thoughts and criticism.[/SUP]

Looking good bro, keep up the good work and keep us posted. I've grown the master kush before, what breeder is yours?

she looks nice I think shes liking the full spectrum. What are those on the floor?
Yeah for sure dude :D, I figured I have it lying around. May as well put it to good use. Thos plants on the floor are my actual herbs haha. I have some chive, two kinds of parsley and some stretchy spinach. I use them for cooking soups and stuff. Plus they offer my lady some company in the lonely closet heh.

Thanks man, will do! This one is a Nirvana seed I got like a year or so back. I thought I had lost them but they turned up of all places in my sock drawer haha.

Looks good.

If I were you, I would prune that lower growth. With that light, its not going to develop and youll end up with lots of underdeveloped airy popcorn buds. It will also help with air circulation and reduce risk of mold.

Big bushy plants are good outdoors or with higher wattage/supplemental lighting but not so productive with smaller wattage lights.

You can use the lower branches for cuttings if you want to keep the strain.

Yeah man I had that thought as well, I may do that. for now tho I popped a couple clamp reflectors with cfl's at the base pointing up to hit thos neglected under branches. Thanks for the input dude!

image.jpgHere she is, I gave her a nice new 5 gal bucket a few days ago. She was getting a little root bound. I probably could have left her in the 12in pot but now she's got room to get comfy wyle packing on thos fat buds.

man thats really nice. I have a 6 day old nirvana master kush going right now. Its my very first grow. Got it under a 400watt. Really liking how yours looks hopefully i can get mine similar.

How long did you veg it for? and for no topping that looks like a perfect size, I have mine in a 2x2x5 tent

That's awesome dude! I'd love to see how it turns out. I can't remember how long exactly I veg'd her, but I know it was at least 5 weeks. I got her to bush out all around by cutting off nearly all the fan leaf sets to get the light down onto all the lower bud sites. I'm experimenting with defoliation this grow to see how many bud sites I can get goin full steam without removing all the fan leaves. Basically I'm just removing any fan leaf that shades a bud site.

image.jpgShe's starting to stretch a bit now, getting in some really closely formed nodes on thos tall branches. I set up a small drip system to water wyle I'm away. I have to leave town for a week so It should do the trick.

Why are the leaves so massive in the second picture?? they're like oak leaves!
I'm guessing you mean the pic from like the second week of veg. I believe the wide leaves are due to master kush being an indica dominant strain of weed. Once thos fan leaves were removed tho there was a more varied range of leaf sizes that grew back.

There are finally buds forming. I have a really good feeling about this one. I think the combination of HPS, LED and CFL is going to make this grow beyond superb. I wish I could try to regenerate this plant after harvest. The CFL lights at the base of the plant are forming tons of new growth without flowers. Sadly I have to move a few months after harvest. My friends here will be getting a good chunk of my spoils since I won't have nearly enough time to smoke it all after dry and cure. Here is a few new pics!

the light setup you got going is great you can seriously see a difference. Your plant is just about the size I want mine to end up. I like the idea of florescent around the bottom because the plant does get very bushy and its a shame to remove lower grow. I took off a few lower dead leaves and took two clones but havent done much leaf removal Heres a pic of mine, dont think it'll turn out as beauty as yours but im seriously loving this strain.
