2+ weeks into flowering....should i trim lower branches ?

im about 16 days into flowering. plants are looking very nice. small buds everywhere. I did cut off a couple of lower branches just before i cut the lights to 12 hours but now that i got buds i am seeing a few but not many lower branches that i may be able to trim. Not sure if thats the way to go or should i leave it alone and not shock it or anything....Thanks guys

I would take them off i did it. And it will help in the end. Some people may say not to. Just one of those thing you have to decide.

I probably will be doing this aswell, I dont think there is anything wrong with it, will stress her a bit but not to the point of hermie. Also depends how much your taking off and if your adding any other stresses like tying down or bending.

what's the point of removing lower branches or popcorn buds.
You're not doing a scrog so there's no need to.
I do not understand why someone would suggest removing popcorn buds.
I let them grow, that's just more to smoke,DUH!

I suggest removing any popcorn buds down low but leave your leaves intact. Your leaves provide energy to your plant.
That's how I do it as well, and for the same reasons.

Those lower buds aren't usually getting enough light to develop fully. Some say that they actually are an unnecessary draw on the plant, and that removing them increases the density and potency of the top buds.

You could reveg, or just harvest the top of the plant, then wait till the lower buds mature for a second harvest.

It all matters how much room each plant has, how tall the plant is, and how big of light, which really is never discussed much on this forum when arguing about lollypopping. If each plant has plenty space, no need to rape the bottom as much. With 6-9 plants under a 1000 watt, which end up 3'-4' tall when finished, we like to LEAVE 16" +/- of top when we prune. We usually do that final pruning 2.5 weeks after start of 12/12. If you're growing trees, it would be completely different. Make sense?

Btw, popcorn buds suck big time. Not only to trim, but i think they lower the quality of a bag. I'm a firm believer, that it's better focusing on the upper/ bigger buds

So sounds like there is no real clear cut answer accept maybe experiment myself with one or two plants and leave the rest alone. then see what my results are in the end. i do appreciate everyones thoughts

You know what, that really is the only way for you to figure it out. Controlled experiments!

Because removing the popcorn buds focuses the plants energy ( ie growth ) to the main colas that are recieving the bulk of the lumens. Once again Big bud, you prove that you should be reading and learning and not giving advice. DUH !!!

If you tie it down and train it right then you don't need to do that.
That's how I do it as well, and for the same reasons.

What is your problem with me dude.
I was just making a comment.
You really need to get some help with that anger issue.
Go smoke a bowl, calm down and then you will feel much better.

I always just double harvest the plant. Those popcorn buds will get fat and way better in quality once you remove tops and place her back in flower. Some people don't like to do this because they would rather finish the whole plant and start another one.

No anger, but you have multiple posts ( mostly on early farmer posts ) that contain bad information. Since this is a GROWING site, it is the members responsibility to make sure bad information gets corrected before it becomes folklore. When you say "what's the point of removing popcorn buds?" it's an experienced growers responsibility to set the record straight. I'm not the only experienced grower who explained why you would remove popcorn buds.

And who are you to say that you're right?
just another google know it all.
What do you care what advive I give to people?
Give them the benefit of the doubt that they are smart enough to seek out more then one opinion and then they can decide what is best by what others tell them.
I'm not here to make enemies and put someone down by the advice they give.
I am only taking the time to respond to you to let you know that I am here to learn and let others teach me so that I might be able to teach others from what I have learned.
The advice that I give to others has been taught to me by others on this site.
To address the issue at hand,I really don't think that cutting the lower buds is really going to have a significant effect on getting bigger colas.
In my opinion.

perhaps you should start a thread about this subject and find out the majorities opinion about it.
