First Grow In A Tote

Hello everyone, just thought I should say this is a great site, I've learn so much from it.

This grow is going to be entirely in a tote, I will use the lst method, going to add more reflective stuff if I can find it, just put it in some key areas for now.
I've started 2 plants from 3 year old bagseed! about a month ago. I have moved everything into a tote with a charcoal fan/filter, I will probably add another.
a 23W fluorescent light on A, and a 14W fluorescent on B, just after checking this, I'm wondering of the light is too close, causing the initial browning. Those lights are being suspended/held in place by high temp thermal tape.
I'm also going to try using lots of LEDs for lighting, I got a few hundred high intensity ones, just need to solder everything up.

For the first 3 weeks I used a desklamp fluorescent 27W 6400K light, during that time, the first leaf set wilted a bit. I try to water every other day, or when the soil is dry. Soil is some generic Hyponex , and I have not used any nutrients.

Lights are about 3 inches/7.6cm above plants. Temp is 84F/29C. Light cycle since spouting is 16/8

Plant B had a rough start when I transplanted it I lost half the roots, but now its doing better than A. I though both maybe had a magnesium deficiency, so I mixed some epsom salt in a gallon water and started using that yesterday to water them. Anyone know if thats the case based upon these pictures?

Both are about 4inches/10cm tall

I'm also contemplating if I should set up a gallon jug and just have it drip

I'll appreciate any and all input during my grow

plants as of october 23rd, see how the edges are still curling, clipped all brown/dead leaves, one leaf is starting to turn brown again, why is this?
