Lowryder 2 with CFL's in my closet.

Hey folks, I'm starting this thread a little late but oh well. These are Lowryder #2's that I started a little over a week ago. I germinated the seeds on Feb. 7th using the paper towel method and I got 6 out of 6. They were ready to go about 30 hours later(Feb 8th), so I put 4 of them in the dwc and the other 2 in regular soil. The only reason I put the others in soil is because I didn't think all 6 would be good. The day after that, which was Feb 9th they sprouted and have been going since. A little about my setup. The dwc is a 10 gallon bin that has a pump running two 6 inch airstones. For the first week I had 4 6500K 23 watt cfl's, 1 2700K 23 watt cfl (to broaden the spectrum a little), and 2 of those cheap grow lights you can get at Wal-Mart for $10. Yesterday I bought 4 y connectors and changed to 4 6500K's and 4 2700K's and then in the center I have two 85 watt 2700K super spirals that put out 4250 lumens each. Oh yeah I still have the cheapies in there too. For nutrients I'm using Dyno-Gro Grow for now, and will switch to Dyno-Gro Bloom I'm thinking the 29th. Here are a few pics that I took early on and a few from yesterday. Please feel free to comment or ask questions and thanks for looking.

lookin good man i like that set up i'm on my first grow just to get the hang of it but next i want to do lowrider 2 also...like to see how it comes out

Help, I have a problem! 3 or 4 days ago I noticed some yellowing on the new growth of 2 of the plants. Of the other 2, 1 is completely healthy and the other has a little nute burn. This makes absolutely no sense to me considering they all draw from the same reservoir. I mix the nutes in well and I keep the ph consistantly between 5.2-5.8. The tds is about 450 right now. I'll post pics when I get off work so you can see them all, but if you look at the pics above you can see the early stages of the yellowing. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I have a small suggested unrelated to growing...

you might want to blur out the pampers boxes from your grow pics, lol...

Okay l believe my scrog cart is like 24ish inches by 20ish inches so 2x2 so 4 sqft w/ some room in left in my closed closet, so thats 12,000 lumens...you said the pak would be green n wht n say 2700 lumens but then you said those lites will have 1600 each so Im stuck...if the pack equaled to 2700 each would be like 13 i cant figure it out..

No No, the 2700K is the color temperature of the light. You need that part of the light spectrum for flowering, and 6500K for vegging. They put out 1600 lumens each, so for a 2X2(4 sqft) space you would need at least 12,000 lumens which is what 8 of them would give you. You may want more than that though because that's the minimum.

excellent my dear friend I get it completely now!!! and would you recomment some of he 6500k stay in for flowering and does that add to the 12,000 or is it just nice effect?

It can count towards it, and I've heard some people say that you should have some 6500 in there but it's not necessary. I on the other hand will probably keep a couple in there just because i don't think it will hurt. So I guess it's your choice.

Good looking grow Chunky, one think i would do is cover those rockwools/hydroton up with a disk of some sort, cut out white styrofoam plates. Also when growing different strains all in the same rez, you going to have burns and such, because all dont react to the nutes the same some are more sensitve, were others can take all you can give em. You have to find a minimum.....

Keep us posted, lookin GR8!!!

Thanks...I'll cover the rockwool. As far as the other comment, they are all Lowryder 2's. That's why I was saying it seems wierd. What I'm thinking is that maybe they have a little root rot because it just doesn't make any sense. That's how I'm treating it. I have changed the water today and added a some peroxide. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them, I'm open to any suggestions.

Ahhhh, i had a problem like that before. Washed the roots/rockwool with RO/distilled water. That perioride will kill all the bad things... lol

Keep her going!!

Thanks for the encouragement puff. I'm trying, it's just that's it's a hard battle to fight when your not 100% sure on what's wrong ya know.

I know exactly what you mean, but the good thing is with each grow comes more and more experience!!!

I will be watching this one, keep us posted!!

Some updated pics of the plants. They are just over 2 weeks now. You can see the 2 that are not doing so well.
