    Dialing in ebb and flow

Yeah I'm definitely excited to try it after it cures. Super stoked. I think my problem was just inexperience with ebb and flow.. Trying to quickly understand the best pot sizes, depth, how big of a reservoir, flood cycles, nutrient level, pump and tubing sizes, just the whole set up all at...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Not sure if anyone is still following or reading this thread, but I thought I would provide an update.. Ebb and flow was by far the easiest hydroponic setup I have ever done. I checked the PH/PPM almost every day, but really only had to adjust the res PH every few days, if at all. I was...

Anti Siphon/Vacuum in drip lines help with draining the reservoir

Dont drill a hole in your line in the tank, its a suction line and will just cavitate your pump. Install your pump higher than the top of the tank. Install a vacuum breaker on the discharge side of the pump. You can adapt from the pump to a hose style, or to a hot water tank style...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

I haven't checked in on the forum in a few days, work has been pretty busy. There's been some steady growth with all the plants and they're looking pretty good. I removed one of the plants that had insanely weird and twisted growth from the get go. I did a full res change a week ago and...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Thanks Renfro. I've seen a few of your other posts while searching for ebb and flow related info that were pretty helpful. I'm going to grab a few of the square pots for future clones. I have a couple 4" ones for some vegetables and I like the way they fit better than the netpots. It makes...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Fresh res change on Sunday, sitting around 550-600 PPM, flooding 6 minutes every 2 hours-no floods during lights out. Everything seems to be responding nicely, especially because some of them got transplanted into different pots. One plant is still pretty droopy and curly, might just be a bad...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

I think for right now while my PPMs are fairly low I'm going to just let the water level fall. Later on in the season I think Ill top the res off with a diluted nutrient mix. Currently I'm just using tap water; its around 100ppm 7ph so I think its good enough for what my gardening skills are...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Nice that sounds like a pretty solid setup. You must feel like you have a ton of free time not growing right now.. I'm working towards the same similar style of grow, just significantly scaled down to keep the # of plants legal for where I am

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Wow, thanks a ton for the reply. That was really helpful. Nice work on the micro grow. Since I transplanted my plants into 6" net pots, I need to get a new lid and drill larger holes to keep the light out again, but i think it should be fine for a little bit of time. I'm going to take your...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Thanks for chiming in. Do you SOG with your F&D ? I've definitely had better luck with coco coir than rockwool for seedlings in the past.. this time I used a little humidity dome and dipped the bottom of the rockwool in water instead of top feeding, seemed to help.

    Dialing in ebb and flow

This morning I transplanted the ggc and bw into 6" net pots that I already had. I think my flood cycles were saturating the Rockwood too much and the roots weren't exploring. I lowered the flood height to just below the Rockwood cube and increased the watering frequency to every 4 hours for 7...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Thanks for the replies. My intention for using a lid and suspending the pots was to support the plants later in life and block any lights out from the roots, wasnt really trying to re invent the wheel. I took the lid off this morning to see if the plants would grow healthier without the roots...

    Dialing in ebb and flow

Hi I recently set up a 4x2x6 ft tent with an ebb and flow system. I can take some pictures and provide some more details after work later tonight, but I'm trying to get the net pots set up correctly, or switch from net pots.. I started seeds in 1" Rockwood cubes then placed them into 3.5" net...

CFL Stealth Dresser & Ordered Seeds! First grow w/ pics

Even with only a 5 week veg from seed I should have only used 1 plant for the scrog lol..I easily could have filled the screen with the bigger plant after switching the lines, allowing for more bud sites and light. Who knows though, maybe the other non-topped plant will grow an extremely...

CFL Stealth Dresser & Ordered Seeds! First grow w/ pics

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I will be posting some pictures in a few hours when the lights turn on. The growth has been crazy. The temps have been perfect ever since switching to the 6" fan. Theres a very miner smell outside of the box in the bathroom...but barely barely barely...
