I've had luck by getting small glass jars, filling them with tepid room temp water, and putting the seeds in, put them in a dark cabinet or cupboard, and leave them for 48-72 hours. Once the little nubbin is out, I poer the water out through a coffee filter, and nudge the seed very carefully...
