That's what I've been doing. It turns out that some of the plants are males, and some are females. I plant more seeds, and the same thing happens. Idk that it matters what the ratio is. In your farming practices, over plant the amount of seeds for the number of plants you want, cull the weak...

Saw this at a st park in central OK. Slightly sticky with a lemony/citronella scent. About 6.5' tall. No leaves left on stems, fully/entirely seeded. Several of these in a planting off a trail. Brought back some memories.
