dont feel alone. i got some that did this as well. everything going great, i mean great. then all of a sudden one day my tops did this. i tried and tried to no avail. eventually the top just went to far, so i cut the top of the plant off. like super topped it. 3 weeks later now they are bigger...

swiss cheese should serve you well. I've had good results with it as it continues to be in my grow year after year.

just sounds fishy to me..... if it was in a yard that was previously kept up like mowed and such what are the odds of the plant actually being wild? it wouldve sprouted and been mowed over numerous times. besides if there were growers living there previously what are the odds they grew right in...

sounds like a promising spot by that little bit of info. brains a ticking now. i got a similar spot as well minus the hard soil... suppose a tiller is out of the question? if not till it up throw in a bunch of organic stuff, hay,straw,leaves etc... just some stuff to add to the soil. it will all...

Where us this spot you found? For instance is it in some woods, out in the open, in some grass lands? Etc.... I ask because if it's in the woods it can be watered and kept soft or same for grass lands with some mulch but if it's jus a bare spot out in the middle of nowhere I think it would...

we never said there is anything wrong with the soil. just the critters dig it up like mad. the soil is actually of decent to better quality.

they are virtually equal man. they are meant to do the same thing. only dif is vermiculite has the ability to hold more moisture and also is known to contain trace minerals. the only REAL advantage or disadvantage is that perlite is more noticeable than vermiculite in an outdoor setting...

looks great, till your eyes wander to the individual pots, then its all down hill. lol

i'd have to agree with catmando. I say put a couple in it and watch the magic.... or demise.... it could go either way obiviously but i sure would jump at the chance to try it. could be some of the most fertile soil you've ever grown in. i wouldnt worry too much about chemicals and what not..
