im definitely not opposed to it, its what i normally do, I dont use the soil at my house because it's like sand and clay, I think I could fix it eventually by planting cover crops but for now Im just going for the best local organic storebought soil and amendments I can use that's affordable.

I was thinking of using chicken manure and maybe some compost, I just got a little put off of the niu stuff tho cause theres so many rocks and pieces of bark in there, and on a previous page in this thread someone mentioned they used human sewage in their mixes which really put me off if thats true.

For you guys that use local kine soil, do you prefer menehune or niu soil? Ive used niu a few times because its cheap but my plants have run into a few issues throughout the cycle using this stuff like some kind of burn or deficiency on the leaves. Mahalo
