I would keep the light 14" above the canopy at all times more power in flowering.
If it is a photo plant you can keep it in veg as long as you like. When you are ready for flowering
then flip to 12/12 and get ready for the stretch and flower stage.
Keep it simple don't over think it good luck...

Why a raised floor? If you're floor is concrete put down some 20 gauge plastic sheeting then cover with carpet.
Then set up your tent until you get your groom built. The plastic sheeting stops the concrete sweat from entering the air.

Inside the tents 80 degrees RH 50 to 80% small 9" fan I unzip the door about 6" to help control the RH and temp.
Is your man cave insulated makes a big difference.
