I believe that the 6 boards with a greater coverage are underdriven to be hung closer to the canopy. This should achieve a similar intensity as the higher driven 4 boards hung higher. However, the 4 boards coverage would begin to fall around the edges in a 5x5 tent, but it would be more intense...

Good to know! I have my 630w cmh sitting in storage. Just way too much heat output for me in a tent. When I did run the CMH in a 5x5 tent I had to A/C the room and vent out another window. Too much power consumption for me.

It's a little scary the first few times you defoliate, but you'll pick it up quick. Pretty much anything that isn't touching the net could be removed. Those branches will only produce larfy lesser quality buds. You've got enough plants in there. So, you could turn this into another learning...

What concerns me the most is that the scorpion and 600r have the same heat output, approximately 2048 btu., as a 600w HPS. I run a 600w air cooled hood in my 3x3 and temperature will climb a little. I wouldn't dare run an open hood 600W HPS in my 3x3. So, what would be the best way to manage the...

I've been asking around about the scorpion as well. From what I understand, the scorpion's diffused lighting lowers the penetration intensity, but allows the light to be placed closer to the canopy.

Give the girls a good defoliation now, before you get too far into flower. With all the happy plant growth, you will get many larfy undergrowth buds that can't reach the light. Defoliating will free up some space to maintain the better branches.

Coco just lacks nutrients. I would recommend moving them to soil now. Don't worry about knocking the coco off the root ball, just do a typical transplant and you should be fine!

You could also soak the seed in water for 24-48 hours in a dark place and it should start spouting a tail. Just toss it in your medium after that. Or next time with paper towels, try to plant the seed before the tail gets too long. Good luck!

600w HPS can get hot in a 4x4. Is it in a vented hood?

What size fan do you have for extraction and what type of lighting will you be using?

What size tent? Be careful when running power cords with ducting. Sometimes it will allow light inside during the dark period. Also be careful leaving the flaps open if the room has any chance of lights on during the tents lights out times.

To be honest, additional nutrients aren't always required through the first few weeks of veg. Every transplant will also bring an additional week or two of nutrients with new soil. My grow is on week 6 of veg now with no additional veg nutrients, only timed transplanting.
